How sad to have another second week of a slam without Sascha 😂 Felix is another one that never fulfilled the potential, so good to see him get this win on the big stage.

There have been more surprises on the men's side than the women's for once but it's been a largely uneventful slam. Out of the final 16 women, only TT and Li are the ones you wouldn't necessarily expect to be there based on ranking, with everyone else a seed or grand slam winner. Fritz being the sole remaining US male player must be a bummer for the crowds but I'm not hugely bothered by that. Certainly dont feel Id have got my monies worth this year had I signed up for Sky's ridiculous suspcription price.
 
I've had a feeling that Zverev's slam window closed when he lost the Oz final, but I'm not entirely convinced we're out of danger yet. He seems to be following Medvedev & Tits with declining form, although it's slower as his base level is a lot more stable than those 2. Astonishing that the Little 3 might end up with one slam collectively.

One match away from Iga vs Anisimova again, but I'm not counting Alexandrova out, she's quietly been in ominous form this week.

So happy to see my girls Marketa Vondrousova & Karolina Muchova steadily progressing through. Keep it up & please avoid any further injuries, you should both be top 10.

I was only following on live score which was tense enough. I feel for Taylor, what a painful loss. It sounds more like Babs won the match rather than TT losing it though. Babs is the most consistently underrated player on the tour, especially when she's able to play her way into form like this. It wouldn't be a total surprise to see her win slam 3 now, & I wouldn't be averse to that either.
 
That match was pretty crazy, Babs was so clutch on the match points, I started watching midway through the 2nd set.

Oh she deserved every match point she saved, Taylor made her work but she still outplayed her.
 
for Barbora to play like that after being battered so comprehensively in the first set, with the crowd so against her, was wild. nerves of STEEL. an easy match of the season contender along with the Aryna vs Emma classic from Cincinatti. poor Taylor, you could see the belief was gone in the third.

but I could just as easily see Pegula rolling over her in the QF. she's been looking shit hot, and this match will have taken so much energy.
 
The guy screaming his lungs off for Krejcikova during that last set was amusing.

I'm not sure what I think about Bartoli's commentary.
 
Coco's confidence just looks completely shot and has all summer. I wonder what's happened there. Naomi on the other hand is clearly super relaxed on court again and will be winning more slams soon if she keeps this up.

These Venus/Leylah doubles matches are a delight to watch, they’re having so much fun and the crowds are loving them. Into the quarters most likely against top seeds Townsend and Siniakova.

Guess we're relying on Alcaraz and his AWFUL BUZZCUT to defeat Sinner at the end.
