Tennis 2025

I took that women CAN win points against men and that whilst men are naturally faster and stronger there’s not the gulf that some people want to pretend there is. Somehow some people took the opposite! But whatever.
If that was really their intention then why did they make him play on a smaller court?

It was trash.

Mixed doubles events show that women can win points against men.

This match was just unnecessary and unhelpful.

Bianca also has big titles in Indian Wells, Miami and the Canadian Open whilst Emma hasn’t been in another final (yet) so wouldn’t say similar but I take your point. It’d be good to see them both doing well, I actually think Emma is more likely than Bianca to sustain a career in the seeded echelons of the slams at this point but maybe this drop down to challengers is the start of the Canadian making a serious effort again (I know she’s injury prone).

She's had such an odd career trajectory, similar to Emma Raducanu minus the grotesque headlines. But if she's comfortable playing lower tier tournaments until her ranking improves then good for her.

She’s literally been ranked no.4 in the world. Not even close to Raducanu’s ‘trajectory’.

Emma needs to get to a point of winning more than 3 matches in a row before we can say she’s anywhere near as successful as Andreescu.

Did you actually read what I said? I said there IS a difference (thus the 9% court change) but it’s not the massive gulf the idiot right wing men want to say it is.

That 9% made it into a match which had its moments in Sabalenka’s favour.

In my opinion it didn't make a successful point in the favour of either side of the argument . What it did prove to me however is that Sabalenka should (but seemingly does not) know better than to involve herself in a gimmick such as this. As the #1 ranked ladies player she has a responsibility to not denigrate her own sport. It would be different if it was a player in the lower echelons of the top 10.

All that being said, I'm not surprised that she accepted the pay cheque - she has never been someone who gives the impression of having much integrity

The whole concept and added court dimension adjustment is a mess. No one is using that match to make any point besides perhaps incels.

I feel it was a mess but will be forgotten quite quickly and hasn't damaged women's tennis. if anything it's just highlighted that Aryna, much as I really like her, seems like someone with pretty questionable judgment. or just a Saudi Arabia fangirl who'll take any cheque that's thrown her way.
