Sinner is quite the player when he’s playing someone on his level, but when he’s not he’s so boring. It’s like watching a perfectly engineered ROBOT

:billie:

Yes Coco!!! Would so love her to snatch the title. Would be great to see after her breakout tournament and beating Venus here in round one all those years ago.

yeah but Cobolli was just off. he's riding very high since the French, I think he'll get it done in straights. and I hope so because I think he is a slam winner. men's tennis needs more of those, enough with the ALMOST GENERATION.

I do want Cobolli to win a slam, he feels like someone who could challenge Sinner and Alcaraz as part of the new big three.

Fery beat Cobolli in straight sets at the Australian Open, 6-1 in the third I believe.
He was actually sick on court during that match, had a viral infection. However, Fery is capable of challenging him if he’s not yet done in after the last two rounds.

@Jark no comment on your fave of faves J-peg going out?
I kinda felt it coming from the second set and can't be too upset because Gauff is so easy to root for. I'll be more upset if Osaka can't squeeze past Muchova today!

Aww. Cute little intervew between Claire and Jannick on the Beeb just now. He is very hard to dislike.

Osaka not really on it as far as I can see.

She's basically out. No way is she breaking Muchova.

Shame because I was rooting for her to win the whole thing.

Agree with Martina. Those are some rookie mistakes she made. Three match points. Urgh.

oh wow. I'm surprised and a little bummed! but overall Naomi is on a positive track.

we shouldn't underestimate how much Czech ladies LOVE Wimbledon

Karo!!!! :disco:

PLEASE get past your kryptonite Gauff in the semifinals & win the title, PLEASE.

Naomi might not have played the best today but she's also finally cracked the surface, I think. She'll have other chances, I need a Muchova slam before her glass body breaks down again :(

I was so dreaming of Osaka and Dimitrov as the champions at one point, so mixed feelings on these results.

Obviously delighted about a Brit making it to the quarters, and that is a story itself for Fery so fully in his corner from here.

The women's quarters today would've been much better as semi-finals. Muchova was my second or third pick to win out of the final 8, so now I'm hoping she goes all the way, but Naomi was my top pick. :(

Paolini from the bottom half please, as cruel as it would be to see her lose a third slam final.

Novak was always likely to win this I feel. Felix is not often clutch in the really big matches. but let's see...

OK Felix was on fire in that second set. now the roof is closing and Novak's pissed. it's getting spicy!

My best mate is texting me saying YAY Osaka is out!

Auditioning for a new bestie as we SPEAK

I'd rather Novak beat FAA tbh. I want Sinner taken out before the final, and I feel like Novak is more likely to get that done. Because personally I find it very hard to like a player once they've had a drugs ban.

Fuck no. In no way do I want Djokovic to get an 8th Wimbledon. He can win his 25th slam at Flushing Meadows if he wants

I have no problems with Sinner winning

at 2 sets to 1 down, even before the early break, I'd say Felix's chances of pulling this back are tiny. it's not like he's played badly. Djokovic is playing some crazy good tennis

Will anyone ever beat his grand slam records (wins, match wins, appearances etc) ever again?

Yes they’re playing longer but I feel we’re entering an age of tennis where injuries are going to be the norm. I don’t like the man but his consistency has been superhuman.

he's been the greatest tennis athlete ever for sure. I don't think anyone will ever win 20+ slams again tbh.
