I'd completely forgotten that it was Jill Craybas of all people to end Serena's run at Wimbledon 2005 & it's just sent me :D :basil:
I was actually at that match and without taking too much away from Jill (who also somehow managed a win over Clijsters in her career) Serena was basically playing on one leg that event, she’d had a pretty bad ankle sprain that caused her to miss the French. Venus dismantled Jill later in the tournament.

ahsolutely INCREDIBLE scenes. stunning play from Arnaldi to turn that match around :disco:

also, I would.

honestly thank fuck for Carlos being out and Sinner (and Novak) falling early. RG has been a fucking blast and it AIN'T over YET

I'm going to Queens this year :disco:

Although I already seen QUEEN SERENE at Wimbledon before so :bejba:

Svitolina - Kostyuk goes to a deciding set. high quality match so far

Zverev fighting to stay in the first set, shame!

Tbf Kotsyuk has played an amazing clay court season. Sabs will not want to see her be the one to reach the final from that side of the draw.

Elina reminds me a lot of the likes of Dementieva & Jankovic, always up there, some top class wins, but not quite enough to get the elusive slam.
I see what you mean with that comparison - I’d prob go back a bit further and say she’s the Manuela Maleeva of the past decade.

Dementieva is another heartbreaker. I’ll never get over that 2009 Wimbledon SF loss :(

Jelena on the other hand :eyes:

They had a close best of 3 set match in Madrid a few weeks ago, hopefully Jakub can be a bit more consistent here and put an end to Zverev.

I was never a Dementieva fan at all but I did enjoy some JJ.

she's by far the best player on the women's tour without a slam, followed by Pegula. the improvement in Elina's game these last 2 years is massive. I believe she can still do it.

He announced that a while ago funks.

Oh I thought he'd only confirmed up to the French Open. I was sent something from instagram him announcing he wasn't doing the British leg and I thought it was recent.

I will not tolerate any Jelena Jankovic slander, just so we are very clear about that.

At this point, it really is ABZ, baby, ABZ. Would personally fly to Paris and massage Mensik's leg for the next 48 hours just to give him the best chance.

The TNT main coverage is fucking dreadful. I don’t pay for the multi court option. Constantly switching matches at key points and now with Sabalenka serving at 5-6 they’ve switched to a studio. discussion about windy conditions between Craig Doyle and Mats Wilander ffs.

Obviously I want her to lose in the next round now. Happy that Sabalenka is out though.

oh dear oh dear.

I can't believe I'm so much more invested in men's than women's at this RG. I couldn't really care less who wins now

What with Schnaider/Andreeva on one side and Zverev on the other, this tournament has the potential to set a new standard for cunty champions.

impressed by how committed everybody is to the prize money protests that they've all decided not to win RG. the payout just isn't worth the effort. :disco:

Imagine we get a GazProm finals between Andreeva and Shnaider on the women's side and the Demon Child winning his first slam on the men's side?

Roland Garros 2026 finals weekend CANCELLED.
