Coco is not converting the break points. She is a fighter you can never count out but it is looking like Muchova's to lose at this point.

I like her but I’m very much against (as if I have any input) the widespread sharing of slams over the past decade on the WTA. Make slams special again and keep them to the select few.
If you win, you've earned it. There's a potential elite in Sabs, Iga, Rybakina & Coco but they're not consistent enough. One day the WTA might return to the days of Graf/Seles or Nav/Evert winning everything but those days have been gone a long time at this point.

There's a wider point to be made as well, BFS, that years back, we'd see Steffi & Monica & co canter through the early rounds 6-0 6-1 & the tournament didn't really get going until the quarter finals. There were loads of cack top 100 players who'd be happy to last an hour. We've got the depth now, lower end players are way better & actually believe they can win, so there's less criticism of the WTA being an easy tour for the elite.

It's almost the opposite problem in the men's, we're waiting for someone to step up & challenge Sinner & Alcaraz properly. Almost 40 year old Djokovic still feels like number 3.

Not having a go, BTW, it just does feel like people are never satisfied either way.

KARO! That's 3 multi slam champions beat in a row. She'll never have an opportunity like this again - especially with all the injuries. I feel genuinely emotional. WHAT A MATCH.

Coco is a contender for future Wimbledons for sure now, although grass is still her weakest surface. She'll have nightmares about the match point, but she's a great player. This will fuel her for future tournaments.

Can you wait until the Confessions II campaign has finished? I need the popsquare updates posted here without me having to fish them out a 60,000 posts one page thread.

That poked forehand into the net by Gauff on her match point where she had a sitter is the stuff that’s going to cause tears and nightmares.

Damp squib of a second semi but I like Linda, she's got power & a good game & she's quietly kept improving. Is this the first ever all Czech Wimbledon final?
