So I take it all back. This was TOP TIER LIVE KYLIE. Minor quibbles regarding recycled remixes aside, this show proved once and for all that Kylie needs no gimmicks nor a lavish stage production to put on an outstanding show. The minimalism came across as really cool and sleek, far more than fan shot videos seem to suggest.
This honestly felt like a repositioning of her as a contemporary pop icon and none of it felt try hard in the slightest.
My seat (yes, I went alone
) adjacent to the B stage was amazing. I was very sheepish when she got to the audience interaction part (possibly because she ignored my screaming requests for Tightrope) and a woman NEXT TO ME (who really wasn't a big fan) was chosen as Kylie's wild rose.
Nonetheless witnessing Say Something in such close proximity bordered on a religious experience.
KYLIE UP!
