once or twice a year a Texas mood takes hold. this is a superb summer album, the first half is really wall to wall.

10 Getaway
08.5 Can't Resist
10 What About Us
10 Cry
09 Sleep
07.5 Get Down Tonight
07 Nevermind
07 Bad Weather
08 Masterthief
07 Just Hold On
08 Red Book

It's a lovely pop album, although I chuckle at the idea of what the original 80s Texas listeners might have made of it

I do wonder if the album might have performed any better with a different lead single. As fun as Getaway is - Sleep might have been better for galvanising the Radio 2 MOR crowd, whilst on the other end Can't Resist might have made for a heavier statement of DISCO INTENT. Maybe even Bad Weather where Sharl really does a good Kylie impression.

What About Us very clearly the best track, but also not single material.

If it had performed better, maybe we'd have been spared the ghastly solo career and XANADU :manson:

I think I gave this album a listen a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised, but don't remember any of it now.

Oh okay, I'll give this album a spin today.

It's a shame that Hi sounded like a collection of unfinished demos, because Jump on Board was really good

I was a bit HARSH in this thread - I must have been over Texas at this point after their change in direction and middling successes.

Time has been kinder. There’s some wonderful stuff on every album, though The Hush remains the only album I can listen the whole way through.

Can't Resist absolutely slaps in the summer. :disco:

Controversial I know but:

1. The Hush
2. Red Book
3. White on Blonde
4. Careful What You Wish For
