That one bit of a song you look forward to

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGOTTABESTRONGENOUGHTOWALKONTHROUGHTHENIGHT! :disco: :disco: :disco:

Once I heard the original, the Lulu version simply CEASED TO EXIST.

Mariah's last chorus in We Belong Together, especially when her voice cracks with this high-pitched sound at the 2.52 mark
Lately the bridge of Abba's Name Of The Game releases a good amount of serotonin through my body
The intro to Billie Eilish's Oxitocyn and some other bits of that song - heaven.
Dua Lipa's short laugh in Don't Start Now, at the 2.47 mark - ah HA!

the LOSING YOU bit in ABBA's Kisses of Fire
the ..its bad... OOOOH SO BAD bit in ABBA's If it wasn't for the nights
the Memories ..MEMORIES good days ..GOOD DAYS bad days ... BAAAAD Days whispery bit in ABBA's Knowing Me Knowing You
the IT'S MAGIC .. bit in ABBA's Take a chance on me... I could go on and on

Just saw this in the Kate Bush - The Dreaming thread, probably the perfect one of these moments for me:
Get Out of My House contains my absolute favourite Kate Bush :disco: moment of ALL TIME; it's that urgent "No I WON'T let YOU IN" at around the 2:55 mark, something about her delivery (vulnerable but still UTTERLY aloof) as the song shifts into its final phase in the background is truly electrifying.

- A small one but a mighty one - the piano chord in Att älska dig

- The middle 8 in Sam Mumba’s ‘Gotta Tell You’

- And of course:

I feel your lips, your finger tips
Get inside, play with my mind
I feel myself, begin to melt
Just look at me, don't stop.
.

Hi Louise

The transition from Free your mind and free your body to Magic still exists !

This will mean nothing to almost everyone but GUESS WHAT I DON'T CARE :)

The series of four beeps in the left channel starting at 4:21 gets me every time, especially the first one :disco:

The song and treatment are of course absolutely everything about 400 years on :disco:

oh and THIS, from Agnes’ Magic still exists:

„For all the nights you were the last one to go home
Not cause you're lonely, you're just holding onto hope „

has there ever been a more devastating lyric and a more devastating song ?

We've found the golden window here - the one where colours show :disco::(:disco:

Actually the vocal is a bit Sia-esque when she gets going, which may well explain my liking for it :disco:

..... and it feels like
HOME
JUST like a prayer
Your voice can take me there
JUST LIKE a
MUSE to me
You are a MYSTERY
JUST like a DREAM
You are NOT What you SEEM
Just LIKE a PRAYER
NO CHOICE
Your VOICE

Can TAKE ME THERE

:disco:

A riot.

For me it’s usually when a singer leans into a chord change or chord sequence with their vocal. Prince does this in almost every song. But off the top of my head

“I live and breathe for you”
All I’ve ever Wanted, Mariah Carey, 2nd verse

“Or do you want me, cos I want you”
The Beautiful Ones, Mariah & Sisqo, bridge

“don’t I belong to you baby, don’t you know that morning can tear us apart”
Cold, Annie Lennox, chorus/climax

“And stares hopeful out the window at the workers fighting through the pouring rain”
Sheryl Crow, Run Baby Run, 2nd verse

George Michael’s last chorus ad libs on I Knew You Were Waiting For Me

“With my tits soakin' through this tiny little T-shirt
That I'm wearing”
Feelin’ Love, Paula Cole, 2nd verse

“Nothing stands between us here and I won’t be denied”
Possession (piano), Sarah McLachlan, last verse

“If I could wear your clothes, I’d pretend I was you, and lose control”
Don’t Let Go, En Vogue, 2nd verse

The hand clap in Britney’s Stronger
The hand clap in Steps’ Stomp
Pretty much any song with a quick double clap moment

In a song that’s basically all iconic hooks, I LOVE the middle-eight of Back II Life, and the way it sort of breaks through the song like a little stab of urgency.

I live at the top of the block
No more room for trouble or fuss
Need a change
A positive change
Look, it’s me writing on the wall…

All of Westlifes key changes :horny:

And any power ballads when the shouting starts. Mostly Celine Dion and Whitney :disco:

the middle 8/outro of this song where Katie's vocal rises an octave (or whatever that is called) and she finds pure catharsis in her belting register

has never once not given me chills

I don't KNOW where the BLAME LIES!
but you'd BETTER BELIEVE I'M NOT
GONNA CARRY IT ALL!
