What was the best thing that happened to you in 2022?
The end of fucking lockdown

What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2022?
Nothing too horrible springs to mind.

How did you engage in self-care in 2022? Sounds really wanky but just being more mindful I guess? Not in a namaste deep breathing exercise kind of way, more just being aware of my emotional triggers and making active choices not to engage with things that have in the past led me down rabbit holes to bad places.

Do you have more money this year than you did last year? No

Who has been a positive influence on you this year?
Boring answer but my friends. Being able to socialise again has been such joy.

If there were no barriers (money, time, kids etc) where would you like to travel to in 2023?
Sweden again, the Baltics, Slovenia, Lisbon again. Almost anywhere really!

Who/what are you grateful to have had in your life in 2022?
Friendship, music, health.

What did you spend too much time/energy on in 2022?
Worrying about money. And work.

What would you wish for a fellow Moopy poster in 2023?
A heart for @Pingu , courage for @Suomi and a brain for @Penelope

What was your greatest achievement in 2022?
Getting through my speech at @Suomi and @HerSereneHighnessAnniFrid's wedding.

What did you avoid this year?
Drama

Got to be watching the Eurovision final in a Scottish bar in Turn with a bunch of Moopers. The screaming and hugging when the points came in was amazing.

What was the best thing that happened to you in 2022? I walked 780km and started dating a nice boy.

What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2022? Work stress

How did you engage in self-care in 2022? I went on stress leave and eventually left my job (well, I will at the end of Jan). And I carried on my book club and did my Camino.

Do you have more money this year than you did last year? Erm no, I don't think so.

Who has been a positive influence on you this year? Parents. Friends. A guy I met in Spain who has been a good voice of calm and support.

What did you spend too much time/energy on in 2022? Getting stressed and miserable about work.

What would you wish for a fellow Moopy poster in 2023? dUb's podcast to go viral and RJN to live it up big in NYC if he chooses to go.

What was your greatest achievement in 2022? I do think probably completing the Camino. It's only now that I can look back and conceptualise that I walked almost 800km over mountains and in a Spanish heatwave with a recently broken foot and was in pretty intense pain every day. But I'm also proud of my book club for getting more members and continuing to be a positive source for queer people in Belfast with regular meetings. And I'm proud of myself for stepping away from work.

What did you avoid this year?
In a negative sense it's that I haven't been as mindful of regular exercise and healthy eating and need to keep myself into gear. Positively I've avoided being as superficial about new friends and dating.

Getting to Santiago. And walking in Galicia.

Royal family - yay or nay?

Nay

What was the best thing that happened to you in 2022? It has been an oddly even-keeled year without as many highs as I would have liked - but also avoided the low lows. Probably gaining some valuable clarity in the last few weeks of the year and seeing lots of people I didn't see for years.

What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2022? I guess Covid in June and working during what was supposed to be 3 weeks' worth of vacation leave in July. First was rotten luck, second was terrible prioritising on my side.

How did you engage in self-care in 2022? In theory, I'd like to say I am getting better at it but reality is, the last few weeks have hammered it home that I still have long ways to go.

Do you have more money this year than you did last year? No. I'm not earning less per se but with cost of everything going up, I wouldn't say so.

What do you want to accomplish in 2023 - can be one or many things?
Integrating healthier routines into my life: Morning routines, workout routines, nutrition routines, routines that help me relax. Plus I want to actively want to create a life for myself where work is one part of the equation rather than my life being a part of the work equation if that makes sense. Whatever else happens, happens.

Worrying and fretting

My wish is for Diddy and Dub to find wonderful men who will treat them right

What was your greatest achievement in 2022?
Sorry to harp on about it but I can only put "not being dead" for this one :D

What did you avoid this year?

The dentist. I was supposed to have all of my teeth removed but circumstances prevented it. I've yet to make another appointment.

Tell us about one of your favourite moments this year
The lady in the next bed to me in hospital had been there for two months, she'd had a lot of medical problems, was being fed by a bag overnight and was just starting to eat little bits of soft food to get her internal plumbing working again so they could take her off the nightly food bag and, once her "waste production" went back to normal she would be allowed home for a day visit. We'd been chatting a lot in the last few days, she was a lovely lady and we had a lot in common and I'd been bigging her up at mealtimes and giving her sweeties from my stash. Half an hour before the consultant came round to tell me they were going to let me home she came back from the toilet, beckoned me over and told me "I did a tiny bit of poo!". Had either of us been in any fit state there'd have been happy dancing up the ward I can tell you but we had to make do with quietly clapping and giggling so as not to bother the other patients or get a telling off from the nurse.

Royal family - yay or nay?
Very much nay.

What do you want to accomplish in 2023 - can be one or many things?
I want to be the best grandma. I want Mr F's medical problems to improve. I want to be made redundant from work. I want to win the lottery. I want to get another dog (or two).

Name: Octavia Multiphonica

Age: 49 🫣

Rate 2022 out of 10: Hmm, tricky. Despite everything, a 6.

What was the best thing that happened to you in 2022?: Nothing major - I'm in work, have food in the cupboard and a bed to sleep in. That's enough right now.

What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2022?: The loss of an old friend, a family member and a close friend's father - all lovely people without whom the world is a colder place.

How did you engage in self-care in 2022?: Did some decorating, bought some new furniture. Improving my living space helped me more than I'd anticipated. And I now have everything by the Fall in its own place. Moopy was a place of escape and sanity in 2022. Did anyone ever think they'd type that sentence?

Do you have more money this year than you did last year?: Only in theory - the absolute calamity of late period Johnson then Truss then Sunak made what was more in April/May into the same or even less.

Who has been a positive influence on you this year?: Several of the new-starts in my work; three of them in particular showed me some new perspectives, brought me up to speed on some cultural norms that had shifted and explained a lot of memes. One of them has a mega cute cat too.

If there were no barriers (money, time, kids etc) where would you like to travel to in 2023?: Canada and Sweden.

Who/what are you grateful to have had in your life in 2022?: my immediate family have been important this year in a way that some of them maybe hadn't been for a while. My dad is always the greatest, mind you.

What did you spend too much time/energy on in 2022?: A dickhead senior manager who hated me on sight. Gone now, mercifully. That and scouring eBay for sub-bootleg live albums by The Fall. But that's not just a 2022 thing, that's a permenant affliction.

What would you wish for a fellow Moopy poster in 2023?: I dunno, what do you want for yourself, dear reader? OK. That.

What was your greatest achievement in 2022?: Nothing in particular - got through it, got a couple of old dears who'd been ripped off their money back, made a couple of friends. That's enough in an absolute stinker of a year in the wider world.

What did you avoid this year?: TERFs, Tories, cops.

Tell us about one of your favourite moments this year: being give a spontaneous gift by two colleagues when I came in obviously upset after a sleepless night and one of the above listed departures. Such an act of exceptional kindness and it has stayed with me.

Royal family - yay or nay?: Nay. It's time. I believe we'll find a lot of the loyalty to the crown was actually to Queen Elizabeth II and we'll see public opinion shift. Tourism? People pay to visit the Palace of Versailles, don't they?

What do you want to accomplish in 2023 - can be one or many things?: Get back into making music...I only finished one thing this year and that was only intended for an audience of one.

What did you spend too much time/energy on in 2022? Worrying about how my decisions would impact others

What did you avoid this year? sex mostly :D

6 (it's really a 3, but double-points for not featuring a lockdown)

What was the best thing that happened to you in 2022? -
finally graduating as a BORING ADULT and getting on the property ladder. Even if the property is an overpriced pit.

What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2022? -
losing the last of my grandparents. Aside from being sad at their loss, realising you are now only one generation away from being the elderly one is very SOBERING

How did you engage in self-care in 2022? - becoming comfortable spending time in my own sole company - I'm now far too happy having solo coffee trips, solo spa days, solo days out. Probably dangerous - I now need to re-learn wanting the company of others.

Do you have more money this year than you did last year? - LORD NO

Who has been a positive influence on you this year?
- I refuse to learn from others

If there were no barriers (money, time, kids etc) where would you like to travel to in 2023?
- New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Stockton-on-Tees

Who/what are you grateful to have had in your life in 2022?
- the usual "family and friends" goes without saying. I guess I'm also grateful to be in a reasonably safe and free country. It's mostly a pile of shite, but at least we're not being invaded by an insane Russian.

What did you spend too much time/energy on in 2022?
- too much mental energy on my rather dull and going-nowhere job. I need to be better at switching my mind off at the same time I switch the laptop off. My job is not so important that my employer would collapse if I weren't there, so why stress?

What would you wish for a fellow Moopy poster in 2023?
- I hope for a time machine so Jark can go back and un-complete his 2022 countdown, because I'm really not sure where he can now go from here. I also hope Sally Thomsett sells all of HER SEXY CALENDERS. Only £40!

What was your greatest achievement in 2022?
- probably purchasing the pit. I think I need to achieve more in 2023.

- Covid. Responsibility for others. Emotional energy in others.

Tell us about one of your favourite moments this year -
leaving sodding High Wycombe

Royal family - yay or nay? -
THE WHOLE DISGUSTING CONCEPT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOLISHED CENTURIES AGO

What do you want to accomplish in 2023 - can be one or many things?
Making my pit feel LIVABLE. Re-start art classes and progress beyond stick-men. Justify the gym fees I pay by going at least ONCE. Dating even if I find the idea of making time for others TIRESOME. Finding a non-dull job.

What's this shit :disco:
annual

"the sponsored walk became an annual event"

It's a time-honoured Moopy tradition. In my opinion you owe Star an apology for the post that I have quoted.

Please stop with the trolling now and play nicely. Consider this a warning that if I see another troll post from you today or tomorrow I will ban you until 2nd January and I don't care if I get my modship removed for it. It's a hard time of year for some people and seeing you trying your damnedest to get a rise from people is upsetting me, so please try and convey warm seasonal wishes instead of amusing yourself with nastiness. It's not big and it's not clever.
