Shakira really SOLD OUT though. Does she have, like, any sort of long term plan with her music career? It’s all just completely random with another shit album thrown in from time to time. She really was a perfect match with J.Lo for the Super Bowl.
 
Shakira sold out in 2001, in fairness. But at least in the 00s she was trying to do something a bit more interesting sonically than just chasing reguetón hit after hit.

Fijación Oral and Oral Fixation (plus some tracks from Sale El Sol) were OK-ish though, it all went downhill after the self-titled one :( El Dorado is the biggest offender in my opinion. La Tortura was basically Reggaeton but at least it stood out and you could tell she was making an effort; which reminds me, Alejandro Sanz has also been shit for nearly 20 years as well.
 
It’s actually BEP feat. Shakira as she’s a hook girl now. Don’t try to rebrand this Pipo.

She really is the quintessential example of an angsty songwriter who got rich and happy and had nothing to write about anymore. At least when Gwen did that she had the good grace to go through a painful divorce a few years later.
 
To be fair Shaki went through a messy break-up in the 00s but you wouldn't have known from her musical output as she was singing about being a RABID MAN-EATER WOLF at the time.

I will always have time for her but I don't care one iota for this sort of music. She's also a massive tax dodger so fuck that.

How is it possible for her music to always sound so trend-chasing, but she still seems to exist outside of current trends/popularity. She's an enigma
 
to be honest i just FORGET SHE EXISTS AT ALL these days. which is one of the very SADDEST places for a once great popstar to find herself
