Been Tory since 1931.

Recent polling has Labour 4 points up!
 
I’ll believe she’s gone when the Chancellor confirms it. I’m not taking her word for it.

The bookies have Lib Dems as the strong favourites. If we’re lucky, the by-election could be held on the same day as that Covidy one in Scotland giving Labour the excuse to focus there.
 
It's surely going Lib Dem yeah. Can't believe we're having another by-election when the actual election is surely 12 months away.
 
If anybody in Bedfordshire is still prepared to vote Tory after three years of NON REPRESENTATION then frankly they all deserve to be thrown in the bin

This wouldn't have been the result had Ferrier resigned - her complete disdain for her constituents was always going to have a major knock-on effect, given what they had to do to get rid of her. If she'd had some humility and gone when she should have gone, the entire campaign would have been different. Labour were able to say "The SNP doesn't care about you" and it could stick.

The real plus is the collapse of what little Tory vote there was - after a week of neo-fascist bullshit from the party conference, their support voted Labour. That the other far right parties, Reform UK and the actual-old school fascists, the Scottish Family Party flopped at the polling booth is good news too.

It's shit but possibly for the greater good if it means they stick with non aggression at the General Election (well apart from Sheffield Hallam of course)
 
I’ll be delighted. The seat is meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it will be forever remembered as a reason to ditch FPTP and or at least co-ordinate better.
 
Mid Beds is too close to call, Labour apparently are "confident" they have taken Tamworth
