She is a local councillor.

She's just not local to the area in question

Agreed. But she’s not a local councillor, and hard to think of two more different areas than Hale and Longsight.

Yeah true, but her being in the trades hardly screams posh politician cosplaying as working class. And she's more local than Reform's offering.

Ooh Labour have chosen that Greek bird who I voted for in the general election and who lost to APHRA BRANDRETH

When ministers fuck up, they normally get away with it by resigning their ministerial office only. I doubt he’ll go full Chiltern Hundreds.

Two SNP MPs have triggered Westminster by-elections following their election to the Scottish Parliament: Aberdeen South (Stephen Flynn) and Arbroath & Broughty Ferry (Stephen Gethins).

And it sounds like we’re getting one in Makerfield (Josh Simons) soon too.

And another?

In Manchester again too.

It turns out VoR was right for the wrong reasons.

The good news is Andy Burnham may be able to win, the bad news is that this is just because the 47% of voters who intend to vote for the far right are split.

The by-election Question Time special was brutal for the Reform guy

And the betting odds for Reform seem to have drifted quite a bit too

Exactly, so I think it's just better to leave stuff like that out, because it is much less effective.

I haven't seen the whole show, because life is too short to watch Question Time, but I assume he was trying to use an attack line along the lines of "These career politicians know nothing about the real world. I am a plumber, I actually know what goes on", so that woman bringing up that he is a plumber wouldn't be out of nowhere.

If Restore withdrew it would still be basically neck and neck. Also WHY is Andy promising a snap general election if he becomes PM? Yes, the clamour becomes inevitable when a new PM enters no.10 as the media refuses to accept ours is a Parliamentary not a Presidential system. Yes, it's the strongest he's likely ever to be. But with current national polling can we really risk a Reform minority government by Christmas?

They absolutely can't now anyway - they'd still be on the voting slip so they will still get votes - and those two parties HATE each other in a really helpful way.

Yeah I think what she said was fine in the context

Plus when Hannah Spencer was a plumber for the Greens she was treated like shit by the right

Burnham wiped the floor with everyone, not just the Reform guy

Woke plumbers only please :disco:

Yeah that's a heck of a result. Reform and Restores combined still a good 6000 short from Labours total

The gall of Tice to claim that Reform voters voted tactically for Burnham to get Starmer out this morning.
Absolutely. Indeed the entire country only votes for other parties out of the tactic of not wanting a shower of racist morons as a government. Wiley, sneaky bunch that we are.
