I haven't either and now feels like the moment. I did love Web Therapy.
 
I tried to watch it, but couldn't get into it.

Mind you I left Veep for ten years, based on similar reasons.

I mean I’m glad it’s a highly regarded niche gay fave, but it really deserves to be heralded as the MASTERPIECE it is!

Finished season 1. It's criminal I've taken so long to watch this, absolutely amazing. Diving straight into season 2.
 
I see it's already making its rightful way into reels/gifs on social media. This is her time, I have a feeling.
 
Well, I've finished.

EXCELLENT. Season 2 was definitely better than season 1, but I think that's partly because I'm not a big fan of studio audience sitcoms so was more familiar with the HBO and Reality satire.

Yes, a very emotional ending, although I thought he would outright die so thank god for that.

Loved the complete switch of filming style as well

Also the improv episode was one of the most difficult things I've sat through. The CRINGE!

I think I’ve only watched S2 once. I’ll definitely be bingeing both before it returns. Even though I’ve watched S1 at least 3 times.
 
For new viewers, these bonus features from the Season 1 DVD are equally essential.


 
Can also highly reccomend WEB THERAPY for the late arrivals to Lisa Kudrow’s post-Friends career.

I didnt know where to post this, but this thread is getting more traction than the White Lotus at the moment. Why dont either of these queens have their own threads?

 
Are the original Web Therapy mini-episodes streaming anywhere? I didn’t take to it as much when they tried to expand it into a full sitcom format, and the whole thing is frustratingly difficult to find online.
 
Web Therapy another one that of course turned out to be frighteningly prescient. Hello BETTERHELP.

It was on Amazon Prime at some point but doesn't seem to be there any longer. I think I can source you a link to all the episodes if you wanted them.

Got this on now. I like to think Kudrow is enjoying Parker as much as I am. Yeah. YEAH. Yeah.

 
 
I'd be here all day unpacking that clip, but Parker is beyond ridiculous. Explaining something to Lisa about her White Lotus role as if it were something so profound, but then Kudrow says she assumed the opposite: "yeah that too".
 
I've completed this now. The last episode, made me weep a little. Sad to see that Robert Michael Morris (Mickey) died a couple of years after this, he really was the best thing in it (Kudrow aside).

Still an amazing programme. S2 may has been a little better than S1.

Already sad, that they're once be another series after S3 until 2035.

Paulie G really is the greatest TV villain ever. The absolute TRIGGERS I get when he’s on screen :D

I get so much joy watching Valerie mentally and internally spin out whenever she gets uncomfortable on camera or doesn’t understand how to act natural from Jane’s prompts. Kudrow is just perfection throughout. It really is one of the great TV performances of our time.
 
Valerie’s meltdown at the pool when she gets home and finds the kids smoking and drinking :D never gets old!

I wish I could find a clip of it but the scene where Val says to Seth Rogen - "Walk? It's been a long day. Why don't you just RAPE ME." is my favourite of the series :D

* Valerie is a guest on WWHL and doesn't understand any of the games and is somewhat offended when she has to sit in the second chair next to someone from Below Deck.

The third season of revived HBO series “The Comeback” has unveiled a first-look image at Lisa Kudrow back in action as actress Valerie Cherish, alongside the news that Andrew Scott is joining the cast. The new season will premiere in March, HBO chief Casey Bloys announced during a HBO Max slate presentation in London on Wednesday night.
Kudrow and her “The Comeback” co-creator Michael Patrick King joined Bloys on stage during the presentation, where they also revealed that the plot of Season 3 revolves around Valerie being cast in the first-ever sitcom written by AI.

“The joke that’s already played out is that AI is bad,” King said. “I mean, that was two awards shows ago — everybody said, ‘My speech was written by ChatGPT.’ So we had to go deeper and figure out what would be the issue if AI was actually learning fast and that people were trying to stay ahead of it. So yeah, I mean we worried about what’s going to happen to everybody. It feels like a real moment.”

Bloys added that when Kudrow and King pitched Season 3 to him, he encouraged them to get it out there quickly because of the fast-moving nature of the subject. “When we come on in March, we think we might still be a little bit ahead of the curve, but we don’t think anyone will have owned it yet,” King said.
Scott will play a studio head who Kudrow comes up against. “We decided that a very important part of the story would be the person who ran the studio,” King added. “Not the villain, but a very important character, and we got a very important actor to play him.”
When the crowd reacted to that actor being Scott, Kudrow exclaimed: “I know, I almost cried!”

Kudrow also shared that they shot “The Comeback” on the “Friends” sound stage. “I had to guard myself every day that we were on that stage, otherwise I would cry,” she said. “Just because … this trilogy, this character and this show means so much to me, and then ‘Friends’ obviously meant a lot to me too.”
Other returning “The Comeback” cast members including Dan Bucatinsky (who plays Val’s publicist), Laura Silverman (reality show producer, Jane) and Damian Young (Mark, Valerie’s husband).



Though Scott may be best known in the TV world for his role as a hot priest in 2019’s “Fleabag,” he most recently graced the silver screen in the Netflix psychological thriller series “Ripley” and also had a cameo role in Lena Dunham’s latest series “Too Much.”
“The Comeback” originally aired on HBO for a 13-episode season in 2005 before being canceled, and then revived for an eight-episode second season in 2014. Shot in a found-footage style, “The Comeback” follows B-list sitcom actress Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) as she chronicles her return to television after a decade through a reality series. Its second season saw Valerie attempt to producer her own reality TV pilot for famed “Real Housewives” producer Andy Cohen. Further plot details about Season 3 have yet to be released.
Co-created by Kudrow and King, “The Comeback” Season 3 cast also includes Tim Bagley, Matt Cook, Jack O’Brien, Ella Stiller, John Early, Barry Shabaka Henley, Abbi Jacobson, Tony Macht, Brittany O’Grady, Zane Phillips and Julian Stern. Kudrow and Patrick King also executive produce alongside Bucatinsky and John Melfi.
