The Comeback

I watched it again lol

I'm halfway through the episode and honestly it's everything. The whole Chicago thing was magic :D

But it's the little things in this show that keep me giggling

"Am I doing anything right?"

"You're so funny on the lines!"

"Ah thank you darling, sorry, wish I'd had time to learn your name."

"Steven."

...

"What?"

Just perfect.

I haven’t seen Easy A - I’m thinking it’s a gap in my Kudrow experiences? I’ve also had Happy Endings on dvd since lockdown but haven’t watched that either.

Bring on the BINGE

I might also top it off with a rewatch of The Opposite of Sex :disco:

I have a question: I hadn't watched The Comeback before, so I watched five episodes of Season 1 and don't really find it funny? Do I need to give it more time? Does it get better? Or is this another Schitt's Creek situation, as in a show I just don't get?

Yeah if you don’t enjoy it after a few episodes it’s probably not for you.

Just under 5 hours until the next one. I reckon I'll squeeze in a gym session first - perfect comedown watching The Comeback.

Mark is a bit of a douche this episode

The zoom scene was hilarious and takes me back to the Covid era

Jane F looks good even with all the work

Trixie cameo 😍

Also those with Hayu, look up the Hey Paula show, she deliveries as much chaos as Valerie just on a different frequency :D I'm going to watch again when this season of The Comeback finishes.

Not sure how i feel about this season so far. Jane seems to have had a character transplant, is now a cuck and I don't understand why James Burrows a 85 year old man who has directed over 300 episodes of Cheers, Friends, Fraiser, Will & Grace, etc - would want to direct an AI written show that looks like the calibre of a Quiby show.

Also I wish they would commit to a device/method of filming Valerie, it’s a bit jarring when they just give up mid scene and revert to filming it like it’s And Just Like That or something.

Though this was a good episode! There’s now two big clunking references that Friends exist in The Comeback universe. I hope they’re building to an episode about Valerie having a “should have been me” rivalry with Lisa Kudrow with Lisa as herself against Val. Also a meta nod to the Phoebe and Ursula stuff.

Zane Phillips is everywhere these days lol

Jane is a bit weird this series but people also change after a decade

I thought the Micky stuff was touching

I like that she still can't be trusted.

And I've just discovered Zane (who I just assumed was slightly above a Pit Crew when on Drag Race) is 32 and not in Sinitta years. I'd have guessed a decade above.

I have to be honest though, Jesse is the weakest link. Stick her up the back chopping onions whilst the mother takes the reigns.

These continue to be so good too. The 2 guests are pretty funny and the poor host kind of not required. Val's Q&A portion possibly my favourite so far.

Another great episode tonight.

I like that Val is a little more straight forward yet still awkwardly funny this season.

This was probably the weakest episode so far.

I get why she called Pauline G but there wasn’t much done with it.

I’m also really over Mark at this point
