The Confessions II first listen thread

Read My Lips feels like the most REDUCTIVE (LOOK IT UP) so far but I'm certainly not disliking it either. Danceteria is a hard act to follow.

If "Read My Lips" was Confessions into Hard Candy, then "Everything" is Music into American Life. It's giving me Impressive Instant meets Nobody Knows Me.

Is this also Mirwais co-produced?
 
Everything is definitely the Music throwback. Mirwais only produced on Betrayal though. I think this one is fully Stu.
 
yeah Everything really is THE most outrageous tit slapper.

it's hilarious how she released 3 singles that made this album sound like a basic COADF redux when it really AIN'T THAT.

So far I'm enjoying it more than I expected, but I'm excited for this HYPED UP second half (don't let me down gays)

The Bring Your Love references work so well on Love Sensation (held off on properly listening to it till the album)
 
Love Sensation makes me feel slightly torn. it's such a warm hug of a song, it's lovely. but at the same time it feels a bit SAFE and I think they could've done more with the French filter production. I think it'll settle down nicely though, maybe I'm just more excited by everything around it for now.

it is a better song than Bring Your Love.

Love Sensation is still :meh: but it's better on the album. It's probably the most classically Stuart Price thing on here (criticism)

Stuart Price made Get Together and Jump so he should be able to manage filtered disco better than this.

Love Sensation sounds like it could have been ripped straight from The Avalanches' We Will Always Love You.
