The Confessions II first listen thread

Betrayal is the least necessary track so far but still works perfectly in context. I can't believe there are still two tracks left. This is lovely.
girl we both know that some time when you're feeling FRENCH levels of melancholy at 5am you'll have a spiritual epiphany to these SULTRY HORNS!

The Test is a hell of a comedown after that run, but it's perfectly nice.

I actually think Lordes has a lovely voice.

love the lyrical back and forth with Lourdes on The Test. she has a fantastique voice. the vocal blending on the chorus is great.

The Test at the moment doesn't feel like it belongs on this album, but at least she had the good sense to put it after the downtempo run rather than in the middle of the house run.

I think this might grow when I can listen to it out of context.

The Test - 7.5

Dare I say that this bit of the album is a bit meandering and boring. Don't be a buzzkill indeed.

the last three tracks are really giving the after-dessert mint chocolate treat to the rest of the album's five-course banquet. LES Girl sounds like the sun coming out.

The sheer brilliance of Danceteria is augmented by too many things to mention whilst I take this all in. Madonna be funkin' her Rapture roots, it's excluding no-one and yet feels like the coolest thing she's done in years. The effortless abandon. I'm in a trance.

It ends with a 7 but again, with upside.

Well that absolutely FLEW by.

I will not be a total hater and say that L.E.S Girl is a lovely, gentle note to close on, like Nico's 'These Days'.
