Love Without Words is immediately serving the kind of in between songs fantasia we got on the Confessions tour. Madonna in a trance and the world is spinning yet again. I'm in love with the energy. Now the piano has came in with added blasts, bleeps and technotopia. I don't even know if I've been given a chorus or any verses - I'm eating.

Madonna's techno conception School is providing a chaffing texture, a bass that's just whoomping and chomping away. It's positively galvanised in studio stoned excess.

It's surely her best album since Ray Of Light. Even just objectively thinking about the execution of it all. The confidence. The creative decisions. The ordering. The cohesion. The storytelling.

Music might be more important and COAD might be more fun and iconic, but this album smacks of a really masterful collaboration between creator and producer. No scene chasing, no trend following, and aside from Sabrina she isn't even catering to the kids - the promo had me fooled. This album really is the album she said she wanted to make.
