If you think about it in a roundabout way, she may be appealing to traditionalists who don’t feel women should be working anyway… but you’ve got to assume that most of them wouldn’t therefore be supportive of a woman with school age children (like herself) being Prime Minister.
 
She’s an incredibly clumsy political communicator. Unless she storms her conference speech she will be out of the final run-off.

Yeah, she probably isn't making it to the run-off. Incredibly high-handed with fellow MPs and is running an incredibly defensive/cautious campaign designed to give her as much leeway as possible as leader, and it's worrying/putting off MPs who she needs to win over. Jenrick is running circles around her in the right wing lane, and Stride's votes plus whichever goes out out of Tugendhat and Cleverly (probably Tugendhat) will very likely put the other centrist candidate (probably Cleverly) into the final run-off against Jenrick ahead of Badenoch.

She's already ranting in The Times about how it would be a stitch-up if she doesn't end up in the final two when it just means....she wouldn't have been able to get enough support to even be able to recruit a loyal frontbench. So much for personal responsibility :basil:
 
Agreed. It will likely be Jenrick v Cleverly in the final two. Seems unlikely the winner will be leader by the time the next election rolls around unless they can perform a miracle in the next couple of years.
 
How is this leadership campaign STILL GOING ON? Can’t they speed it up a bit, it’s not like anyone in the party is VERY BUSY?
 
I know! There's so few of them, this could surely have been done in a quick game of rock, paper, scissors for all the fucking difference it makes.

That was Jenrick too. It’s slightly less deranged than it sounds in that he means he wants Israeli citizens to be able to use passport e-gates, presumably meaning that displayed Star of David would be on a little Israeli flag above the lanes. Of course, the fact that this is the less deranged version shows that we have already gotten in fairly deep.

Jenrick and Badenoch are just blowing the whistles and see if enough of the dogs come running, presumably because they think it worked for Reform.
