I think Houdini was the correct first single - and her best song - but Training Season was the original lead single pick. her hot Greek bf at the time directed the video but it was scrapped because they felt it could be controversial. I think there was a car bombing scene or something (her American Life moment). then they shot the awful new video at short notice and bumped Houdini up to first.

So, she basically switched from American Life to Hung Up video mode right away. Oh Dua, the excellent student of pop history that you are. Also, no need arguing which of the two ought to lead the campaign. Both should have been well deserved number ones.
