It was originally to double up on how congested the Bakerloo line was when it went to Charing Cross, then got extended all the way out to the east once the Canary Wharf money came in because it was a waste ending it in the centre.

I had to get to GIDEA PARK and it was all closed up at Liverpool Street but then was fine getting back. BIZARRE

As someone from the East of England the Lizzy Line has been an absolute godsend. Suddenly the West End is two stops from Liverpool Street. And the disabled access is wonderful.

Mr Ag is travelling all the way to Slough today (I know), but is only taking two trains. Literally unheard of a few years.

And coming from the west, it's made getting from Paddington to Abba Arena a piece of piss.

I can’t think of a single reason to need this I’m sure it will be very useful for some.

Also getting from work now straight to the West End is better by going to Tottenham Court Road rather than having to change at the dreadful Waterloo or take the awful Central Line. It’s quick too!

And I have a friend who lives in Henley and they used to often get stranded in London due to unreliable trains. Can now take the Elizabeth Line straight to Twyford from wherever.
