I've got a real itching to play FFIX again, and it's made me quite sad how this was the last time they made a Final Fantasy main game that had that sense of cutesy, olde worlde whimsy about it. I think ever since 10, they've had all had the same futuristic/realistic aesthetic. I would die for a properly colourful, fantastical world like 9's on today's systems. It's like the creativity has DRIED UP.

This is all very "not like it used to be" I know. My main point is I'm excited to play 9 again - especially as I can't play Rebirth yet so I'm HANKERING

I just learned that when Squaresoft was making Final Fantasy 8, one of the singers they were considering for "Eyes on Me" was MARIAH .

It would've been too perfect. Of course it never happened. What a loss for humanity. Crushed.

Faye Wong was such a random choice anyway, I think I read somewhere that her team essentially paid for her to sing the song as a launching pad for a career in Jpop. With an English language song

In hindsight I think X had the more impactful music

Maybe it was for the best. Even IF Mariah had agreed, she likely would've had zero control, resent the final product and then never acknowledge it again like she did with Almost Home.

But just imagining how her vocals would've made the song sound like gives me goosebumps.

The chokehold Queen's Blood has me in replaying FF7 Rebirth (well I never completed it on PS5 because the beach town slog pissed me so much so trying it again on Switch 2)

I loved GWENT in The Witcher 3.
