The HOTLY ANTICIPATED 2022 Christmas Number One thread

Mariah's already gone to #1

Sheeran/John #13 on sales, #17 on streaming, #4 overall.

I’m guessing that’s due to most of the top 16 being Xmas and their streams are all halved? I haven’t actually checked yet.

Yes - the only non-Christmas song above is Raye at #11.

Apparently, Ladbaby is teaming up with Martin Lewis to record a reworking of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas.’ Somebody needs to stop the cunt.

Grimly inevitable. But FUCK OFF all the same.

Fuck off Ladbaby. It’s so fucking depressing. Songs that no one actually plays should not be Christmas number one.

It's funny how LadBaby wasn't a millionaire before he started making charity records but he is now...🤨

The Kunts song this year is actually pretty catchy. They've done a "SFW" version called "Stuff The Tories" but let's face it, a total waste of time because no-one will announce a single by "The Kunts".

Mind you, the last one was catchy too, it was just the first one that was a tuneless thrash. We should expect quality from the man who set "Let's Send Nan To Dignitas" to a calypso

it’s for a GOOD CAUSE!*

The number of deaths from the original Band Aid is still quite low isn't it? George Michael, Rick Parfitt and one of Kool & The Gang, I think?

Is the new sausage roll song a cover of Elton and Ed Sheeran’s Christmas song or was that last years?

No, they're doing "Do They Know It's Christmas".

Which actually makes me sick in my mouth. What a vulture. I'd fuck him in the arse with the rough end of a pineapple.

Where did The Pogues get to last year? I seem to remember thinking it had tailed off a fair bit compared to previous years.

Imagine the chart truns old songs would have had if they could have charted every tear since release.

Obviously different rules apply over the years re downloads and streaming, what counts and at what ratio as well.

OK, I literally looked this up on the Official Charts website....

I do feel like the Pogues and now this year Leona seem to ‘struggle’ slightly in comparison to what they used to do. The folks at Buzzjack chalk it up to playlists favouring the US tunes hence some of this classics now do better than more UK centric tracks.
