the kids are alright

this has been my surprise favourite show of the fall season. it's about a family in suburban la in the 70s that has eight boys. it took a few episodes to grow into itself but it's become one of my favourite comedies (with a lot of joke abuse hurled by the parents at their children).



the first episode makes you think it's going to be about the (performance) artsy one but the attention gets spread out well and they're all quite adorable in their way - perhaps one of the few good shows these days where all the characters are sympathetic.

Thought this was about the fabulous film with Julianne Moore and Annette Bengal!

Will have to check this out.

so this has been very sadly cancelled after one season. i guess it wasn't sexy enough for people to give a chance because it is excellent.
23 episodes of the best sitcom on tv the past few months.
