the fucking NOSTALGIA of this one!!!

is it a novelty song? do we care? somebody buy me a convertible STAT!

loving the 10 voters being the shy majority :disco: who knew stanning There She Goes was like voting Tory?

I love the other two ButterTart mentions, but this doesn't sit alongside them at all for me.

It’s not a novelty song, it’s just an early Britpop song that crossed over.

It’s OK.

I like the story of Sixpence None The Richer covering it, only to be horrified when they later found out it was about heroin. :D

I like their version more, to be honest, but that's a nice story :D

It definitely got overused but you can hardly grudge them that - when you only have one song that anyone knows, you're not going to pass up on the dosh for yet another film soundtrack. The main thing I grudge about Lee Mavers not being able to get another album together is that John Power left and formed Fucking Bastard Cast, to give them their' full name. If Mavers hadn't been so obsessed with being authentically 60s, we wouldn't have had to put up with that utter garbage.

it’s really perfect for a teen romcom montage scene in a film, but the fact that the full song doesn’t have ANY verses, I can’t sit and listen to it willingly for 3 minutes.

Cast were Britpop's abyss.
