I always hope it's just the kids themselves trying to be 'edgy' or whatever, but we've definitely had some parents complain about their kids being taught LGBT history.
 
Meanwhile, the one open gay black student I teach is a QoL. Straight A kid and checks all the boys with lines from Drag Race :disco:

I think it’s complicated because homophobia is roughly the same among Black and White Americans, but white Americans are much more divided by rural vs urban. So in a city, it probably does seem like there is more homophobia amongst black than white people

Doesn’t Monique come from a religious background? Homophobia is more common among religious communities (regardless of their race and religion).

Something like 95% African American, from Working-Middle class backgrounds.

I will say that a lot of the negative behavior fades as the children age. So a lot of it comes down to maturity and leaving behind behavior learned from awful cultural icons like DaBaby.

By the time they're Juniors, they're asking me about my dating life. I'll get back to them when I care to GET ONE.

This was very popular when I was in middle school (it was played at all the Bar Mitzvahs :D)
 
Between DaBaby’s “apology” (only released after all the festival shows he had lined up dropped him) and Matt’s “I didn’t say faggot even though I just said I did”, this has been quite a day
 
To be fair, whilst very stupid, I don’t think Matt Damon is homophobic, or certainly not to be lumped in with DaBaby and his comments.

I have no sympathy for this DaBaby character at all. He's done nothing but centre himself throughout and the time to sit down and stop talking has long since passed.

I doubt it'll harm his career much. Although I can't imagine him getting many guest spots in the near future, there will surely be an audience for his next album "CANCELLED" with a front cover image of him being crucified or somesuch.
