The moopy guide to really bad driving habits

I HATE driving in Manchester. One way systems are fucking awful and dreadfully confusing for visitors at the best of times, but Manchester's really is vile.
The worst thing is the roads that are shared between cars and trams. Its rather unnvering following trams I find, you never know if you have mistakenly driven down a tram only route. Also when your wheels get stuck in the tram line grooves and your steering goes funny, I always think Ive got a puncture.

I dislike cyclists who cycle on the footpath when there’s a bicycle path RIGHT BESIDE it.

Also, motorists who park on the path outside the supermarket when there’s a car park TEN FEET away.

I try not to get angry about people's transportation habits because the internet (particularly local newspapers and local fb groups) are just full of people getting angry about parking or cyclists or taxi drivers and it's just so neverendingly awful.

My favourite is when people moan about a car legally parked on their street because they don't recognise it, acting like it's a gross crime against their person. YOU DON'T OWN THE ROAD JULIE SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I have more beef with people who moan about perfectly fine driving/parking than the people who are shit at driving/parking. SOZ OMF.

Me not driving is quite possibly my greatest gift to the world. I'd be utterly fucking useless and probably cause endless accidents.

That is always my fear :o I don't want to drive down any tram roads. There's one bit somewhere, I can't remember where but I can picture the junction, and only that my fear was making me pay careful attention I didn't drive down, but it would be VERY easy to turn down that tram-only road. I think there's like a very small no entry sign and it's a very wide junction :manson: It turns very quickly into a station platform too - I don't know how a car would get out of there!

I have absolutely no beef with perfectly fine parking! It's a part of LIFE we can't avoid it.

But some people - too many people - are just really bad at it and there's no denying or avoiding it.

Another one I've just remembered - the junction out of my estate onto the main road, some Karen likes to park her jeep on the grass verge even though she has a fuck off driveway. It doesn't so much restrict the view of oncoming traffic, it obliterates it. Anyone with a HINT of self awareness would notice that.

I know what you mean about facebook groups though - she was called out on our local group (not by me) and it all got a bit awkward. She put some really bad LEGAL response claiming to be a lawyer (clearly not a lawyer) and threatening defamation :D I couldn't help myself but LOL in response. She wasn't amused.

This is even worse at mini roundabouts. The amount of MORONS that just sit there presumably until there is no other car on the road

oh it's definitely a mini roundabout issue :D people get SO CONFUSED. I always shout ARE YOU AMERICAN? :oi:

( @RJN to apologise on screen )

In Jersey you have to take it in turns which I think is quite nice but would never work here

They actually started building them in the Atlanta suburbs and nobody knows what to do :D and that includes me

I may not have mentioned New York yet, but not having to drive is one of the main reasons I’m moving there. I hate driving so much

Also, I don’t drive but I still acknowledge that Coventry is an absolute ordeal to navigate around. I have nothing but sympathy for anyone going to Coventry as it is, but as a motorist it would be a living hell.

I drive and have done for 30 years but I find nothing more DULL than driving chat. LOCK THIS TOPIC IMMEDIATELY.

London is the same (if you ever do decide to elope). It's actually more of a pain HAVING a car in London. Stressful to drive, parking is impossible or ridiculously expensive, traffic is woeful, and transport links are great. I mean WHY WOULD YOU?

:D It's actually not driving chat doll, it's venting about stupid fucking humans cleverly disguised as driving chat.

NEVER take venting about humans away from me. It's my favourite hobby.

The title says it all. Don’t try and dress it up! DULL DULL DULL.

I'm slightly concerned that now I've QUIT MY JOB:

a) I'm going to have to drive a car meant for POOR people
b) It's not going to have all the things that mean I can drive like an ABSOLUTE CUNT and get away with it

I just remembered you guys drive on the wrong side. What a nightmare!

Other than the fact that I’m not good at parallel parking, I have this bad habit of slowing down when passing a traffic lights when they’re green which is apparently a big no no here.

Fun fact, in Spain, you would get done for that.
