From the director of The VVitch and The Lighthouse with Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor Joy, William Dafoe and Bjork.

The Lighthouse was fabulously absurd, so I'm very much here for this.

quite the cast, and yes, both The VVith and The Lighthouse were great. although I'm not quite feeling Skarsgård...

Not me avoiding all this viking, Game of Thrones inspired NONSENSE for so long only to be DRAGGED in by Queen Nicole and King Eggers. Ugh!

YES AND?

I love Vikings and The Last Kingdom so this looks quite wonderful to me.

Is there evidence of Nicole having any lines in that trailer?

Just seen this trailer having no idea what it was. It’s like someone has taken my brain and uploaded everything I hate in order to make the worst film ever. Can I preemptively mark it a 0?

NO. Robert Eggers is here to press all your buttons :D

The reviews are saying this is REALLY GOOD.

Eggers isn't for everyone but apparently this IS.

Queen Nic has a complete MOMENT late on it seems.

Oscars 2023 here we (probably don't) come, but maybe she can bop Will Smith on the nose anyway.

The reviews have me quite hype. This is going to be a big hit I think, it appeals to cinephiles because Eggers and the neck beards because Vikings.

Loved this. It was high-camp bonkers fun. Nicole Kidman and pretty much everyone else gave up on their accents half way through and ended up with Irish accents somehow.

Beautiful scenery too.

It’s a bit boring despite all the gore and muck. Alexander Skarsgard is not a leading man, he’s just a bit dull. I would have enjoyed a movie about the mother, the uncle or even the love interest.

Also I would have much preferred for it to not be in English with an array of bad accents.

Sally from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022!!!

I’m glad Nicole’s part was a bit beefier than advertised but yeah this was just a gorier Lion King.

Nicole was good and her monologue was fun but the accent…she started Russian and ended as something else

I really enjoyed this when I wasn't GRIMACING at the gore. A great cast, and I was glad Nicole and Anya got quite a bit to get their teeth into, but I agree the lead was a bit NOTHINGY.
