The offical Moopy Eurodance EXTRAvaganza: Fri FEB 12th 9PM

This video looks relatively expensive for a mostly unreleased Eurodance track. Someone must have needed a tax write off.

Gala - Come Into My Life (1997, UK number 38)

Out of Gala’s three BIG HITS this was the smallest, but still a BIG HIT around Europe and her third Italian number 1 in a row - not to be SNIFFED AT.

I always see Gala as a bit more of an ARTIST than a lot of Eurodance acts. Her lyrics are surprisingly decent AT POINTS, and I believe she was more of a singer-songwriter act until somebody remixed Freed From Desire and life changed FOREVER!

Anyway why Come Into My Life? Firstly its a banger, and not heard as much as the other two, and secondly it’s always amused me how it sounds like she’s singing a TOTALLY different song at points to the backing track :D

I went through the list (just to make sure nothing was blocked!) and I truly think we will all be dead by the end of this :disco:
Ms Rona has nothing on a gay* coma pandemic

I prefer her other two biggies to this (as well as later smashers Lose Yourself In Me and Taste Of Me), but this is still good fun.

this GALA track is by FAR my fav so far! totally agreed that she's singing over a different track entirely at moments :D SOMEHOW IT WORKS!

the video is fabulously BAROQUE meets NEO NOIR as well :disco:

Ice MC - It’s a Rainy Day (1994, UK number 73)

ICE MC and Alexia are BACK with a song that I consider AS GOOD QUALITY as Think About The Way, if not quite as famous.
The video is a ridiculous hot wedding mess and it’s a REALLY good little Eurodance song, again with a SAD SLANT!
It goes without saying this was huge in some countries, especially Italy, but the UK once again FAILED Ice MC :(

This seems like one of those songs where they meant to go back and replace some of the It's A Rainy Days in the lyrics with something else but only realised they had forgotten after it was released.

I DO AGREE!

LOVE IT, but the repetition got a bit MUCH towards the end, and I CHOSE IT! :D

Captain Hollywood Project - More and More (1993: UK number 23)

Talking of SAD SLANTS, this is a borderline EMO Eurodance track, and one of the biggest of the genre worldwide of all - yet it weirdly didn’t do a lot in the UK.

This was a big American hit, charting at number 17 there, and was huge all over Europe. Obviously the social-conscience theme of the lyrics didn’t really appeal to our sad little isle :eyes:

Whilst I do like this a lot, I do feel it needed a bit of a remix to SPEED IT UP a bit.
I couldn’t however justify not including it, so enjoy whilst Captain Hollywood (and it’s occasionally fabulous video) PLOD ON for a few minutes all!

The first US hit featured. Why were we so STUPID in the 90s (and also before and after)
