I thought this was lovely. Probably the first depiction of alcoholism on screen I've seen that didn't feel like it veered into cliches, and actually made me understand more about what it's like to be a piss artist. Saoirse Ronan is fully great in it too, in a non-showy way. And it does make me want to go to Orkney, but only for like a week
 
Pretty much what @DriFinn Home for Christmas said. Really beautiful, if relatively slight film. Some might find it meandering but I found it really absorbing, and Ronan was absolutely fantastic. In terms of the mood if not the plot, it sort of reminded me a bit of Aftersun.

I've often harboured fantasies of going to live as a semi-hermit on some remote island with lots of nature, so that aspect definitely appealed.
