So after an album from Allison and some very stop-start solo releases from Cat, they are happily reunited. There's been a reworking of Secret, an online concert and now a new song:

It sounds like they have plans to do more, though nothing firmed up yet.

I'd completely forgotten all about them. Right, that's the listening until bed calls sorted.

i've been having such a you and i late summer that it's borderline psychic they've come out with new stuff just this very moment.
when is that record being reissued?

anyway, the new one. i like it. i like how the motherfucking line cuts through the campfire.

here's my the americana pop say lou lou, i mean, pierces top 10

01 you'll be mine - always and forever
02 it will not be forgotten
03 we are stars
04 space and time
05 love you more
06 kings
07 glorious
08 i put your records on
09 the devil is a lonely night
10 drag you down

yes, i went there and i'd go there again.

but there was too much cheese on the follow up to you and i.

Funny you make the comparison to Say Lou Lou, I was watching a video of them and they were talking about how it is for them as independent artists, and I thought hippy Aly and AJ.

Hard to argue with that top three.

I was listening to Creation only this morning. It is hurt by being a bit bloated, whereas You and I is a tight 11 tracker. Lose five of the weaker tracks and it stacks up much better, though only Kings touches the highest highs of the previous album. I do love the title track and The Devil is a Lonely Night too though, and Honest Man is the best Allison song on there.

i have been listening to you and i so much these past couple of weeks, if i didn't know any of it by heart, i do now.

this time around they often remind me of abba. it's the melodies and the harmonies and i can't seem to tire of any of it. definitely one of my favourite albums ever.
