The stormy TUESDAYS do blow

It's INTERNATIONAL WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE DAY

I doubt I'm going to hear much about THAT :eyes:

There’s quite a lot of weather here as well. Not much work being done though, which means not being paid. Still, you can do a lot with legumes :)

I am so cold. :( Didn't want to get out of bed just because I was cosy rather than anything else.

Blizzard conditions here today. Are you familiar with Windy Wilson Octy? He Is very Facebook famous through this way. He is a bit of a prick truth be told, but I don’t have Facebook so only need to stomach him when I bump in to him in social circles.

Looks like we're due a blizzard later. best do a quick shop run then.

I just popped onto Twitter to have a look but was distracted because Rolf Harris was trending. Assumed he was dead but it seems loads of people who are (rightly) against Smug Patel's deportation flight this morning are wondering why Harris isn't being deported. Turns out he's a UK national and the legislation didn't cover historical offences anyway. Oh well.

Oh not much Is being done here either, but I’m still getting paid :) It’s not my fault they make us work like crazy before the holidays only to find ourselves with little to do afterwards.

As a freelancer, I must say that I do rather RESENT not being paid for sitting round moaning, doing bugger all if the mood takes, crying in the toilet, spending hours in pointless meetings and having extended lunch breaks but you make your choices :side-eye:

Sounds like you know MY HIGHLY ESTEEMED COWORKER. I'd ask her but she's GONE SHOPPING

Right I'm off for my first run in several months. If I don't die, I'll pick you up a vindaloo on the way back Lolly :)

Just nipped out to the shops and got back just before the HAIL blew in. Some quite entertaining cursing audible outside from a couple of people caught in it.

These are all the reasons I set out upon my own path.

I've just been to an event where I was described as a DISRUPTOR. While that gave my ego a semi the ensuring business chat crushed my soul a little, and I had a very strong sense of WHAT AM I DOING HERE.

I got absolutely BUFFETED by the hail and wind earlier, I'd be fuming if it wasn't for the fact I just got to use the word BUFFETED.

As a freelancer who works from home, I still do all these :disco:

Shouldn't worry, people who talk like that are usually humourless cunts who can't take any kind of contradiction.

Meantime - I just set off my smoke alarm with my hairdryer. Oops.

I charge for 37.5 hours a week (as per my contract) whether I've actually done that or not...

Somebody was meant to call me at 15:00 to discuss TOP URGENT WORK MATTERS and hasn’t bothered so I’ve just sent an email saying, sorry sweetheart, heading out now. I mean obviously I’m actually in bed moaning about her online instead but it’s the PRINCIPLE!

Oh I don’t have hours-based contracts so I can’t do that. Swizz!

*makes note*

A disruptor is a good thing, isn't it? In business terms.

Is it? Oh, this must have been one of those blue-sky-thinythink type doofers then. "There's no such thing as a bad idea" OK, how about we fuck this off and go for a pint then?

In other news the winter long wait for a cold seems to have come to an end. Bad timing that I'm running a seminar next week. Softened by the blow of my first proper essay marks coming back and they're :disco:

"To be a disrupter is to create a product, service, or way of doing things which displaces the existing market leaders and eventually replaces them at the helm of the sector. Disruptors are generally entrepreneurs, outsiders, and idealists rather than industry insiders or market specialists."

Vote big ron.
