The Traitors - Episode 1

Yeah I'm actually annoyed because I now can't live tweet on Twitter, as loads of people will have spoilers. I'm going to have to block the hashtag I guess.

Didn’t think I’d be into this but after the SHOCK EARLY EVICTION I was hooked!

Not sure about the games or what the point of having two teams was. The money goes into the same prize pot. Who cares.

Are Moopy gonna binge or watch as broadcast?

I will try to resist watching on iPlayer.

Can we agree to keep this thread spoiler free until each episode have been broadcast?

(Including the
.
-type spoilers?)

I’m gonna watch it as broadcast - The Circle was so much better because of us all watching it together

I’ve just watched episode one and wow, I absolutely love this to bits

Need to catch up asap so I can read this thread

I read a review about this earlier, then had to explain to Ms Ron about Mafia. She looked confused.

A new thread per episode is probably the easiest solution to the spoiler problem. We can always merge down the line to tidy up if need be

Started with 2.9 million viewers last night
That's pretty decent for an overnight figure. Plus I imagine the demographic it appeals to is more likely to be one which is likely to watch on catch up. Plus word of mouth (here at least) seems very positive.

LOVED IT.

As noted, Claudia is perfect for this and it is just so campy...the traitors' oath, the hood, the signed and sealed death sentence :D

Oh that is quite poor. :(
It depends what you're comparing it with, I guess. EastEnders usually gets 2m -2.5m in the overnights. 2.9m is in line with what Top Gear and The Larkins had this week. And as I said above, I think this sort of show (and the positive word of mouth) will hopefully see this do well on catch up.

Yes but Eastenders is doing rubbish at the moment, and it has been discussed many times in the ratings thread how long it can keep going on BBC1 prime time with such paltry ratings. The Larkins will also likely be cancelled shortly, and i don’t pay much attention to Top Gear. I hope it does grow, as it is a brilliant show but if it doesn’t pick up I doubt it will be renewed.

EastEnders is meant to be a primetime mass audience. This is a new format for the BBC that I don't believe was ever expected to be a huge success immediately - it's not like they put it on primetime Saturday. In some ways I could see it fitting more on BBC3 rather than 1.

I suspect if it plays well to a certain demographic the BBC will stick with it, even if the total figures aren't massive. I've seen rumours on twitter that the BBC have already approved a second series, but not from a confirmed source.

As I say I hope it grows as it’s brilliant. We shall just have to wait and see.

Putting it on straight after the football was a good ploy. They're clearly pushing for this kind of reality show on BBC1 at the moment with Survivor returning next year too.

Also Aisha is a fucking idiot when it comes to this game. Every step of the way she seems to be just doing everything she can to get in the way of the game progressing. Hoping other people clock and she gets killed soon
