I was thinking last night that Adam is surely one of the most obvious faithfuls of recent times, but mainly because I don't think he's had any airtime. I wonder if it's coming off that way amongst the contestants.

He's giving me faithful who coasts to the final and wins on a virtue of being unmemorable that they never bring him up!

The only issue with this show is that being a good and vocal i.e entertaining faithful means that you’re going to be murdered or banished leaving only the bland, silent and clueless faithfuls in play by the end by and large. I’m not sure how you can reconcile that with the format for vocal faithfuls to stay in longer potentially.

But as I said above, I wonder if that's a production choice. We have no way of knowing whether those "bland" faithfuls have actually been having much more of a say- there's often people accused of saying/ doing nothing meaning they're a traitor, but there hasn't been this season.

Going by previous seasons, Jaz is about the only Faithful who got very close to the end who whilst having more than a modicum of gumption, isn't he?

Yes the "stupidity premium" is sadly baked into the format, but we forgive it by and large because it's so compelling in every other way.

Given it doesn't REALLY matter who wins, I'm not personally that bothered if the cast is 50% hilarious livewires and 50% easy on the eye dullards who maybe stumble their way into a nice pot of money at the end.

And there's always a 50/50 chance that said pretty but dull contestants make the wrong call in the finale and wind up getting their hearts ripped in half in real time.

The traitors should really be offing the dullards because no one suspects them as traitors, although you have to keep a few until the end in order to win I guess

Catching up on this. Harriet was an icon who flamed out because the rest of this cast are TOO STUPID TO FUNCTION.

I feel like there is only so much actual skill involved and most of it is just people guessing more confidently than others. Harriet seemed like an oracle and then she pulled out her five traitor idea so hey ho.

But yes, the entertaining ones kind of shoot themselves in the foot by standing out which means some boring ones get to the end. That said, some of the early nondescript fairhfuls have turned out to be more entertaining than you'd think once the field narrows and they require screentime. Francesca didn't do too much last season until the end.
