The UK Green Parties

My queer disabled feminist visual artist & milliner candidate from the election last year is running for deputy.
 
when is the Green leadership ballot? that video is fab. a man who can sell a strong narrative on the left?
 
I still kind of feel like he's an insincere grifter but what the hell, why not?
 
Voting starts at midday.

In sad news, both Caroline Lucas AND Seb Flyte are supporting the rotten pair.
 
It's going to come down whether people go with the safe, boring, sitting MP's option, or the sexy jazzed up more socialist new guy, who give him his due, has really come out of nowhere ready to fight. I imagine the Party would prefer the former, and the membership would err onto the side of the latter. I can imagine it being a close battle.

Has either side revealed who their deputy will be? Could they maybe be each other's (forgive me if I'm wrong, but is the rule something like if the leader is a duo the deputy must be a sole deputy and vice versa?)
 
If they don't go for Polanski then they'll be handing their progressive membership over to The Your Party (not actually called that)
 
surely they'll go for Zach. no surprise that Caroline Lucas isn't rooting for the disruptor/fresh voice though.

They've got a bit of an issue in that half of their (admittedly small) number of MPs are based in quite conservative areas and a lot of their supporters are 'light green' nature lovers rather than Just Stop Oil types.

There's every chance Polanski wins, puts those people off, and then gets out populist'd in London by the Jezza/Sultana party.

(I still think Polanski is the better of the two choices, but I think both options are a bit shit).
 
I’m here for the Greens becoming more electable, but it is a bit of a worry how everyone else in the party seems to actively hate him. :D

don't we know by that the centrist "left" always hate anyone genuinely progressive?
 
Polanski, who was deputy leader and is a Green member of the London Assembly, defeated Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns by 20,411 to 3,705 votes in a ballot of party members. Ramsay and Chowns, who were standing as a co-leadership team, are two of the Greens’ four MPs.

He lives in Hackney so hopefully he stands in Hackney North, should be an easy win presuming Diane stands down before the next election and the prospective candidate for Labour is their usual entitled right wing psychopath.

He's said he plans to do exactly that if/when the Labour party attempt to replace Abbott.

Not a TERF as such but he's not exactly been a trans ally.

I understand his angle and respect it, but just hoped for a clear out of any terfyness.

But on the flip side I fully see that the Greens are very WHITE, so some melanin in the leadership lineup does counter that.
