The UK: The Andy Burnham years (2 Viewers)

is Ashcroft a top tier poll? with the greens on 15 that feels like a massive outlier...

41% of the country being right wing is not shocking though is it? the Tories alone got 37% of the vote in 2015 + 17 and 42% in 2019. the overall % of right wing voters does not appear to have shot up.

40% of the country supporting May or Major or Sunak I can wrap my head around. 40% of the country thinking either Badenoch or Farage are the best thing for this country is still sickening.

Badenoch is becoming steadily more popular. She's appealing to the centre-right, which was also Keir Starmer's target audience. Now that Andy Burnham is making tentative moves to the centre with a sprinkling of both left and right because fuck alone knows what Labour actually stand for these days, she has a target demographic and the press are beginning to pletform her more and more. While they're doubtless envisaging some kind of Reform/Tory coalition or electoral pact, Reform's councils are starting to collapse into general chaos because they thrive on grand gestures rather than dealing with when the bins get collected and this is being noted. The sheen is coming off Farage, something the needless by-election has done much to hasten and the far right will degenerate into squabbling and the kind of headlines that come from rioting fascists and no-one wants rioting fascists apart from a cluster of psychopaths (such as Musk, Trump, Zuckerberg etc but that's another story).

I broadly agree. I think as things stand Reform will collapse and the Tories will mop up a lot of their votes... but not enough to form a government if Burnham does even a half decent job.

obviously this does depend on Kemi resisting the temptation to make her entire messaging about the European Court of Human Rights or some other culture war bullshit nobody cares for.

I mean I’d rather see the Tories as the opposition than the horror show of Reform as the legitimate possible contenders to Labour.

It never ceases to me amaze me the short term memory of the electorate. Some of the things she has said in the past…

So we're heading straight back to two party politics again?

It will be a pleasure for all this tail wagging the dog bullshit to end after the next election when the carcass of Reform can just be hurled into a ditch.

...which she will because, lest we forget, she's an absolute horror.

I still think it's a touch premature to be declaring Reform a flash in the pan just yet, even if they do look quite winded right now and the media does seem to be turning back to giving Kemi a second look at the minute.

She’s coming for your WOKE subscriptions to The Guardian and Pret coffee club.

I believe the EU already implemented rules that you must be able to cancel a subscription in two clicks or something so that’s already done.

I thought I might catch the BUS to look at a NEW CAR and take advantage of the TWO POUNDS FARES

But the bus goes ACROSS THE BORDER so it will cost SEVEN POUNDS

babe, wake up - new post-popstar career pathway just dropped

apparently he was Rachel Reeves "most trusted special advisor". and now her most trusted spy it would appear

Cellist in a confusingly successful pop group to economic advisor to the Prime Minister sounds like a very reasonable career path for a posh person.
