He seems to be after the centre right of the Tories as if he can consign them to sufficient oblivion to make the loss of core support balance out. Doomed to failure because that part of the Tories is too small, having been eroded during the Brexit campaign and then by Johnson, as well as their general immigration rhetoric. The centre of the Tories is too small and too entrenched to be wooed in numbers.
 
2015 - David Cameron wins an outright majority, things can't get any worse than that.
2025 - Well, fuck this.

Yeah that makes sense. His lack of vision or policy, and his dedication to rules crushes him at home, but on a world stage those qualities give him a statesman type quality.

If there was a leadership challenge now, Wes Fucking Streeting would probably win it. It all needs to go to shit a bit more before we could get a half-decent candidate who might drag them out of the culture wars and into the real world.
 
Isnt McSeeny behind a lot of this right leaning bullshit like the immigrants speech?
 
I think I shared this book I listened to recently, and obviously all journalists have their biases and angles, but McSweeney very much comes across as the true villain of modern Labour in it (as well as a total Cummings-esque pillock)

I'm almost halfway through this absolute marathon and quite enjoying it. it doesn't feel like it was written with too much agenda from either side. that said I'm on about the third hour of the fallout from Jeremy Corbyn's suspension :eyes: let's keep it moving!
 
in the space of two minutes Wes Streeting has been described as "telegenic" and having "a natural effervescence" :D right...

Well, this announcement is coming in the direct wake of that one so presumably the plan at the moment would take that into account.

If the screaming headlines are to be believed, it seems Reeves has actually decided to pay for the defence spending by committing the ultimate act of leftie wish-fulfilment, DEFUNDING THE POLICE :disco:

Although Ed Miliband’s geeen initiatives also look likely to be gutted.
