And I'll stop there, because a quite a few of them really are too much.

Love this even hotter take in the comments. They’re not marginalising gays! Just POOR PEOPLE!

Just seen the Mike Pickering clip on C4 news. What a legend. Looking older than a member of M People should be, but absolutely on point. Get him back on screen.

Mortgage rates have hit 6% and the UK Economic outlook has been revised to negative. I don't think a non-disastrous conference speech is going to buy her much, if any, time...

The first revised mortgage bill, the first credit card with an index linked APR...it'll kick off again.

Truss backers/members of her own team leaking to the Guardian that it has bought her the weekend or maybe a week but that they can't see what she can DO to turn things around ANYWAY

I imagine survival instinct will tell her that getting rid of Kwarteng might be enough, but all of his fiscal policy is really hers, so it won't help her really

Not Nadine Dorries of all people accusing Liz of lurching the party to the right! :D

Fitch said the lack of independent budget forecasts, as well as an apparent clash with the BoE’s inflation-fighting strategy had “negatively impacted financial markets’ confidence and the credibility of the policy framework, a key longstanding rating strength.

“The large and unfunded fiscal package announced as part of the new government’s growth plan could lead to a significant increase in fiscal deficits over the medium term. Although the government reversed the elimination of the 45p top rate tax … the government’s weakened political capital could further undermine the credibility of, and support for, the government’s fiscal strategy.

The ratings agency forecast Britain’s general government deficit would reach 7.8% of gross domestic product (GDP) this year and 8.8% in 2023.
