Until yesterday her party seemed content to wait for things to calm down and then kill her off silently next year, for which the odds has steadily been shrinking and are now under evens. The market simply wagered it unlikely they'd be arsed to do anything before the end of 2022. Now the tone has shifted dramatically, she's openly heckled by parliamentary members of her own party.
 
If you were Liz, wouldn't you just say "Ah, fuck this, I'm off".

It's not like she NEEDS THE MONEY.

In fairness there is also a lot of tactical voting AGAINST the Lib Dems as well.

Certainly the fact that I bet at least 75% of the electorate couldn't name their leader is a huge problem, but their biggest issue has long been (and will continue to be for decades, unless it's addressed) the two part system in the UK.

I've long believed they are the natural home for many people who will never consider voting for them, never mind the dalliance with Cameron.

I voted Lib Dem continually between 1992 and 2010 because I believed in PR. I had an open mind about the coalition but as soon as Clegg and co voted through student fees, that was me out permanently. And it got worse from there.
 
I think the Lib Dems have got lost in the mix, at the national level - which is perhaps inevitable as Labour has moved closer to the centre-left. They will almost certainly over-perform in terms of seats at the GE, as tactical voting is going to benefit them greatly in the South East and wealthy Conservative-held towns elsewhere (Harrogate, Cheltenham etc.) which frankly look set to fall like dominoes. If there are any by-elections in the offing as MPs are elevated to the Lords (Mid-Bedfordshire, Selby etc.) then we should expect them to do well in those yet again.
 
The Lib Dems have been good for ONE THING and ONE THING ONLY.

The move is seen as a clear sign that the department is doubling down on Suella Braverman’s suggestion that people are “gaming” the modern slavery system and that victims of the crime are no longer being prioritised.

The previous safeguarding minister, Rachel Maclean, had modern slavery on her official list of ministerial responsibilities but her successor, Mims Davies, has no mention of the crime on her list. Instead, modern slavery is listed at the bottom of the “illegal immigration and asylum” brief of immigration minister Tom Pursglove.

Under Theresa May, the government pledged to be world leaders in combating modern slavery but Braverman said last week that trafficking claims from “people gaming the system” were “derailing the UK’s policy on illegal migration”.

I don't think fracking actually will happen. It's far too unpopular, and the most viable spots are mostly in comfortable Tory seats whose MPs won't want to risk pissing off their constituents.

fracking is like flying immigrants to Rwanda. it seems to play well with somebody, somewhere, so it's often touted as an option. but it will never happen.

It's anything to stop solar power because it's too difficult to get your nose in the trough. There's insufficient profit in solar and windpower, otherwise Shell et al would already be in on it. It's solely about profit.

Its also democratically available, if you've got a scrap of land facing the right way you can join in and benefit. Impossible for Shell to hoover up all the land and then sell the sun back to us, I'm sure they've thought about it.
 
We should be making rooftop solar compulsory on all new builds and any landlord with 5+ properties should be forced to add solar where viable to their portfolio. Would slow down the housing crisis, probably release houses back into the market and make people think twice before becoming a buy to let wanker.

She’s a thunderous, race baiting CUNT and I’m glad she’s winning herself no friends.

I’m also glad that the need for more immigration is coming out into the open. Every big employer I speak to, and everyone within the DWP, knows how badly Brexit fucked our labour market but the government has always flat out ignored that to continue currying favour with racists with their Rwandan human trafficking scheme.
