Odds of leaving is 1/2 now. There must be a blatant move from her own power base for unseat her next week for the odds to be this low.

I'm really torn between keeping her on which will allow the Tory party to be crushed into the ground and letting the mad bitch go, which as optics go will be terrible and humiliating for her, the country and the party.

I hoped Johnson would call and election out of spite. I'm now so glad that he didn't because this shitshow has changed the game plus, Truss is mad enough to call one.

It does make sense though. If she gets ousted it should lead to the same drawn out process used to replace Boris.

I don't think anyone wants a depressed Liz spending the next three months locked up at no 10 pondering who to nominate to the house of lords.

No there’s nothing to say that it would need to go to a general election. That’s not the rule they’re looking at changing. They’re looking at changing the rules for replacing the party leader so it isn’t a full scale leadership election like we’ve just had.

Of course MORALLY it should go to a general election but that’s a whole other matter.
 
The only routes to an early general election are the prime minister calling one, or the government losing a confidence vote.

Theoretically the King could call one but that is beyond unlikely, and I believe the subject of a ropey TV drama a few years ago.
 
Btw, it's Team Rishi™ that's pushing hard for the change of practices for obvious reasons.

Who actually wants to bother getting the know the common, working class members of the party anyways?
