Agreed. I´m no fan of Starmer by any stretch of the imagination but as someone political further to the left of Starmer and as someone who considers themselves pretty socialist I´d much rather have him in power as my opponent than the Tories(especially this current crop that are taking away our freedoms at an alarming rate and NEED to be taken out of office)
 
I wouldn't vote Labour as it stands at the minute, but I'm in a safe Labour seat so I can do that without FEAR :disco:
 
The polling for Labour has now been pretty consistent for about 6 months. The lead is as high as 30%. With the economy unlikely to recover before the next election, endless Tory misdeads and a weak Sunak, can we dare to presume a Labour win is guaranteed?
 
No because so much can happen in a month, let alone a year, these days. Voters are fickle with short term memories. Timing is not on Labour’s side. Look at how many times Boris recovered. I appreciate this is a different scenario but Labour can’t take anything for granted.

I accept all this. But we're 13 years into a now deeply unpopular government. If anything I thought Sunak would boost the Tories, but I suspect the rot has set in. Unless some loons reinstate Boris, but the optics would be terrible.

The thing Starmer has on his side is stability. He's been the consistent through three PMs.
 
The council elections in May are Rishi's next big test. If it's the expected Tory wipeout, they might try to get rid and bring back Boris on the logic that things could hardly get any worse for them in terms of the polls.

Actually, what it means more is that you've lost the backing of a right- wing, corrupt media more than anything else...
 
PENPEN would be FOOLISH to even try if she holds serious long term ambitions, which you think she would.

The best they can hope for right now if Rishi goes (is this actually being seriously talked about?) is a nutjob who just wants in and out for the PENSION.
 
I was in the gym when this was on and I creased up at the intro which basically said "He cheated on his wife, he broke self-isolation rules, it's argued he mishandled the pandemic and he has only donated a fraction of his I'm Celebrity fee...but does he have any regrets?" :D

Why is no one moaning about the fact he was actually an MP and being PAID by US whilst he SWANNED OFF doing this?

There's absolutely zero respect in that takedown. It's obvious she very genuinely hates Cruella, and I fucking love how spiteful and withering she is without once crossing the line and referencing anything other than established facts.
 
It's just Suella's sheer DISDAIN of not paying the remotest bit of attention that gets me. If I sat like that in a meeting, ignoring everything said around me, I'd (rightly) be fired.

Well, I would if I had a job... :D
