There is an underlying horror here which is easily missed given low bar she already sets, but I’m actually in shock at how she rightly points out that those displaced people are “persecuted, in places of conflict” and then goes on to label them as a problem because they all want to come here.

The level of contempt is so beyond the pale that it almost numbs you, but she absolutely has to get her comeuppance for this. The start is to be removed from office via an election.

She deserves more though. I just don’t to be the one to say what that is.

A quick reminder that she shouldn’t even be in office anyway. She broke security protocol, was fired, and got her job back in days like nothing had happened. Fuck these people.

The mere notion of accountability is only observed by this government (if indeed it is at all) when the situation is past the point where it can be spun and hand-waved away any longer. We're so far below the bottom of the barrel, I'm not sure there's much she could do that would see her removed by any means other than an election.

I don't even think she'll just disappear between the cracks when that happens. The stuff she spews does have an audience and - unlike the Jonathan Gullis and Lee Anderson's of the party - she's probably prominent enough to trade on that for years to come if she wants. Even if it is just GB News and Talk TV.

I'm not sure two years has ever seemed like such a long way away.

Agreed to be honest. She’s nothing more than a Katie Hopkins so she’ll do well post politics (and I can imagine her running at the earliest opportunity of a payday, because entering politics to SERVE is not the in vocabulary of Tories) but more so a Katie Hopkins because she is fucking useless on top of her evil.

Why couldn't she have been a decent purpose when she was RUNNING THE COUNTRY?
 
I do worry how much of it is a general refusal among Tory voters to vote for a British Asian leader. We know how racist their membership is by the fact that they votedfor Liz Fucking Truss - a letter-opener with googly-eyes attached to it - ahead of him but, as much as I want to see them absolutely fucking toasted in an election and soon, that does nag at me a little.

I've been saying that for a while now. The UK's racist underbelly makes me very uncomfortable

There is the element that they're overwhelmingly older, and overwhelmingly more likely to vote, so if they're really that low in the polls there is a chance that this mentality is starting to be drowned out by the wider issues and a growing sense of decency, as a backlash to recent events the past decade. We'll see.
