What's all this kerfuffle about a Texas lawsuit? Trump is talking it up as "the big one" and various Republicans are getting very worked up about it
 
Texas is SUEING 4 other states claiming their changes to their voting procedures to allow Mail-in voting (which was of course necessary to stop people DYING) was unconstitutional and that ALL there Mail-in ballots should be THROWN OUT. It’s ridiculous, states have the right to set their own voting rules however they see fit. The Supreme Court just threw out another case immediately without hearing or commenting on it so it looks like they’re not even willing to humour Trump at this point.
 
The new terrifying thought is that if Ossoff and/or Warnock win, Kemp could refuse to certify the results, leaving it up to the Senate, so Mitch McConnell
 
Well the Republicans can only remain in power through stupid loopholes (and straight-up voter suppression) seeing as that they have lost the popular vote every single time but once in the last 30 years

Kemp has not been so far, but on the 538 podcast they were talking about how he used up most of his political capital on certifying Biden so he might not be able to allow Ossoff/Warnock to win and then win his own primary in 2022

Also he is a horrible cheating racist asshole who has done shady things in the past

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) introduced legislation in the House on Thursday that would bar schools from receiving federal funding if they allow transgender girls and women and non-binary people to compete on sports teams consistent with their gender identities.

The bill — co-sponsored by Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma — was met with immediate outrage from transgender activists and allies who labeled the legislation “blatantly transphobic.”

The “Protect Women’s Sports Act” seeks to clarify that Title IX protections for female athletes are “based on biological sex,” Gabbard and Mullin said in a statement.

Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in educational programs that receive federal financial assistance. The new bill would bar schools from receiving such funds if they permit “a person whose biological sex at birth is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.”

A similar bill was introduced in the Senate earlier this year by Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Georgia) and other Republicans. Loeffler is one of two Republican senators facing competitive runoff elections in Georgia in January.

Tulsi has always been shitty on LGBT stuff, she also said stuff about her respecting gay marriage in law but HEAVILY IMPLYING she personally didn't agree with it.
 
Yeah I'm not sure anyone here was a big fan of Tulsi? Some of us might have mentioned that she had more progressive ideas about foreign policy than most of the other Democratic primary candidates (this is still true), but she was also on record as having shitty views on gay rights AND has strong ties to Narendra Modi and his extremely shitty regime in India (which I'm pretty sure I've brought up on here before!). I do remember mentioning that one debate where she completely owned Kamala Harris when Harris was becoming talked about as the main VP pick, but reading that as an endorsement of Tulsi would have been quite the choice :tongueout:
