I got through to them right away yesterday, but it was 18:45. Probably will be busy at the moment.

Well I got Pfizer and I still have tonnes* of antibodies. But I did also get Covid last year, so...
 
One of my best friends got turned away at a centre yesterday. She’s 37 but got a call to say they had a surplus and she could come in for 5pm... only she has an 8 week old baby and funnily enough took him with her. They wouldn’t let her in with the baby and she had no last minute support because her husband was at work.

WTF is that about? I’ve also now spoken to four other people who told me that they never bothered registering for a new GP, keeping the one at their family home. With millennials, particularly in London this is going to be more and more common. Obviously with the over-50s they’ve not had to deal with many new mothers either.
 
I feel guilty, but I got a text from my GP yesterday offering me a jab today (I’m 37).

They didn’t tell me beforehand, but it was Pfizer. As far as I can tell, there was no shortage of Pfizer for under-40 year olds here (East London).

Don't feel guilty! You've got to go for it when you get a chance.
 
My 31 year-old flatmate got the call to go for his jab tomorrow. Pfizer.

I’m due my 2nd one in about a month.

Still not totally sure why on either count.

Just been reading online that getting an appointment in Tower Hamlets is a total arseache. There was a guy saying he got his text two weeks ago but still can't get a time in for it.

Pfizer's been approved for 12+ here now, which is a good sign for children getting to be vaccinated and the world fully returning to normal

edit: I realized after posting that this might come off as bragging or insensitive since y’all can’t all get the vaccine yet, but i meant it more as good news for the future

The Island is now vaccinating under 40s. Mandy got hers yesterday. 73% of adults have now had their first vacc.

I just tried for Mr Star (36) but it won't allow a booking as he's not a health worker
 
I tried half an hour ago and it said I wasn't eligible; but now it says "This service is currently unavailable for maintenance". Imminent changes coming?
 
I had my second AZ vaccine today, the other arm though cus I got nasty Covid arm with the first one. A huge patch of red raised lumpage appeared after a week, just after it stopped hurting. Let's see how this one settles - I went right arm this time so I can sleep on my left.

OH! And I got two stickers.
 
There's a line in a Sky news article saying "multiple newspapers have reported that those over 35 in England will be invited to book their first vaccination this week"... I can't see anything on Google news about it though.

It's been two years waiting for Eurovision week, I can't have it ruined by side effects!!
 
I really don't want to make anyone jealous right now but Iguana and I actually got our second jabs yesterday. :ShockedSenhit:

There's a bit of a STORY though. It was my dad's birthday, and as I got to their house the driveway was blocked and there were probably about 12-15 people hanging around outside. I assumed some friends had "popped by" to drop cards and presents off so when I eventually got on the drive I stayed in the car and nearly started having palpations and for ready to have a go at my mum. It was so weird seeing that many people! :(

HOWEVER, what had happened was that mum and two other nurses had a mobile batch of 40 doses that was going to a care home that morning, but they'd cancelled, so the three of them rallied round all their friends, set up a mobile vaccination hub in my mum and dad's hallway and they were giving everyone jabs :D

So, totally sprung on me, and a bit out of sorts, suddenly I'm sitting in the hallway having it done. It all felt a bit underhand like I was getting it on the black market but it's good that it's done.

Like last time the side affects came on last night - didn't sleep a wink, felt achey, hot/cold and stonking headache. Feeling crap now but I'm thinking that's more the not sleeping than anything else.

So at least my local MP (who is the same age as me and just had his first jab) responded to me on Twitter and told me to write a letter to his office about this stupid NHS glitch. I've seen a bunch of messages from other people on social media having the same issues across different ages and situations so there's no reason the booking system shouldn't be working for any of us.

I had AZ in March and took an antigen test yesterday. No antibodies detected at all. Second jab due next week.

Even the literature with the antigen test said it wasn't massively accurate, so I'm not sweating it but I still feel I stabbed myself for nothing.
 
My Dad had an antibody test for some study he’s taking part in and he had them before he even had his first jab. I doubt he had Covid and didn’t know just by the fact that it doesn’t make much sense that he wouldn’t have symptoms if I did.
