Things from the recent past that would be PROBLEMATIC in 2020

I had this convo slightly tonight, I never thought of Craig David or Mel B as blackface? They were just stupid masks and stupid personas?
 
I’ve rewatched half the season and the transphobia and racism are shocking.

Probably just covering himself...
 
Obviously all the masks were grotesque by design, but it could be argued that the three he mentioned in particular had exaggeratedly 'black' features like big lips (and stereotyped accents in the case of MJ and Trisha) - there's also the question of whether he should've been portraying those characters at all as a white guy.

It's completely offensive and wrong, but I can't help but find the Japanese Mum in We Can Be Heroes hilarious because the whole set up was absolutely ludicrous :D

I KNOW, I JUST CANCELLED MYSELF :(
