I knew that (or the suchlike) was coming, but I disagree entirely. I even almost wrote "who has six kids (and can afford their bills)" but then thought it was going too far. It's a POSITIVE that people are encouraged to use less water environmentally. I'm NOT suggesting that those in times of hardship should suddenly be PENALISED. Besides, people with meters generally pay less.

Imagine encouraging a WATER FREE FOR ALL, like you suggest, with no limits or issues or thought for the environment.

Although, the huge advantage to Scottish water bills is that it is charged alongside your council tax and so you get the same discounts as council tax

Does it work out cheaper or more expensive? I guess cheaper for a big family that use a lot, and more expensive for a couple that never shower.
