Although I've GOT AWAY WITH IT for months longer than I was expecting, my joyful return to my much-loved old office and its easygoing inhabitants who NEVER MOAN OR FUSS fast approaches :(

I can't face it and am currently hatching plans where I take one day off a week, work at home one day a week, work all weekend to swap for two days in the week and ONLY TURN UP ON A WEDNESDAY

That's never going to FLY but goodness I'm going to GIVE IT MY BEST SHOT

If anyone asks me what I think of the office refurbishment I'm going to say I THINK WE'VE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY WE DON'T HAVE ON DOING FUSSY LITTLE THINGS WE DIDN'T NEED TO (AND BY THE WAY THAT ALSO APPLIES TO THE BUSINESS AS A WHOLE) AND CERTAIN PEOPLE HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME FUSSING ABOUT IT THAT THEY MIGHT OTHERWISE HAVE SPENT MUCH MORE PRODUCTIVELY CONSIDERING THE CONCERNING SITUATION WE ARE PRESENTLY IN

I've DARED MYSELF now :disco:

Or just bite your coffee mug like I do whenever I hear my right wing colleague open his mouth :)

But I'm still in my pyjamas and I've got the heating on now.

Still it's not all BAD NEWS, DROOPY DRAWERS has just come in *jogs paper for 24th time*

Good morning

I’m also working from home today. I get more done than all the time wasted on breaks and never ending mingling with colleagues.

Next year, they’ll change our office to whatever it’s called when employees don’t have assigned desks, but can choose to sit wherever they want. We’re talking about 3 adjacent buildings, 8 stories each, plus two other buildings further down the road. I hate the idea of not having my own clean desk but the thought of being able to hide somewhere else and sit next to handsome men from other departments...or even better, never turn up to work and have all my meetings on Skype is :disco: x100.

I'm also at home today.

Working from home is legit one of the main reasons I still work where I do.

I like the idea of working from home IN THEORY, but in reality I spend most of the time lying around in my pants, watching Lorraine Kelly and wanking. (Not necessarily SIMULTANEOUSLY)

It’s easier than wanking in the work restrooms.

Can confirm I do most of this each day. Swap Lorraine for Homes Under The Hammer though.

The absolute best bit is going to the gym when its empty

:D:disco: Oh working at home is absolutely disastrous for actual productivity and I say this as a freelancer. Constant distractions, and cleaning suddenly seems like a bizarrely enticing option. Also, second pizza? WHY NOT. No-one’s looking and as we all know, it’s zero calories if no-one sees you eat it :disco:

In local news, can I just say how FURIOUS I am regarding TFL withdrawing the 48 bus route. Easily my favourite of the three buses which pass through my vicinity and not for any particularly sane reason. I do however see that they’re extending the 388 to London Bridge which is a consolation of SORTS

I fell out with a mate whose pair of SOCKS are still in my possession and now I need to MAIL them to him.

My place of work introduced working from home last year. I did it ONCE and got the absolute THIRD DEGREE about what I planned to do and when. (They were probably right to be suspicious tbf as I actually had an interview which I got and then LEFT. :D )

Has he specifically asked for them back?
Well the last time he threw another hissy fit he said KEEP THEM but in reality he's very annoyed that I STILL haven't returned them so I want to just get it over with so he wouldn't go around saying what an awful person I am AND that I didn't give him back his socks.:)

Are they USED? Because you could probably get some $$$ for them instead. :)

Unless they’re very special and expensive or have a symbolical value to him (:side-eye:), I’d say throw them away.

Apparently much-loved radio host and sour old queen Steve Allen only wears socks once, then throws them in the bin :)

But what about the inevitable SHIT TALK. "Hey, who is that good looking fella over there?" "Oh, stay away from him, he's a SELFISH PRICK who didn't cook dinner for me even though I invited him over for dinner twice and kept bugging him about it afterwards. Oh AND he still has my SOCKS!"

After last year’s flight shame, the buying new clothes shame is currently trending here.

It has totally coincided with my new strict budget so now I can pretend that I care for the climate.

Hun.

Take ownership of the shit talk! It will make you appear windswept and exotic to other interested parties. If anybody ever asks about the sock "incident" say you found them crusted with (his) spunk in the back of a wardrobe and didn't want to break Royal Mail rules by sending body fluids so you binned them.

(Just to make it clear; I do very much care about the climate (just not enough to compromise my personal hygiene and visual identity))
