Take the hit Rachey. Then ask moopy to help compose a reply to any bad review they may leave.

Tell them you've got it anyway!

What if the couple are telling the truth?

As said, someone else could have taken it, but suddenly, you've got arseholes like that (and they do sound like arseholes) demanding to see it. It's a WEB OF LIES you don't need.

I agree- let them leave bad feedback. You can respond and no one is going to think badly of you for it if you respond properly.

I absolutely would not tell them you have CCTV and you've checked it. Don't get drawn into a lie.

You know you sold it - you can prove it. They can't prove anything. They can't even prove they bought it.

Even if they are telling the truth that they lost it, that's really unfortunate - but it's entirely on them, even if they did leave it in your shop and someone else nicked it.

They have a real cheek expecting you to replace it when you have no responsibility here (arguably beyond checking it wasn't left in the shop) at all.

Yeah I won't say we've got CCTV just in case they do ask to see it.

They may well be genuine and have put it down somewhere and lost it but they can't remember, but I know full well they didn't leave it in the shop.

We also had someone email us a couple of weeks who bought a box of our fudge from an outlet we supply to. We always supply fudge with at least 6 weeks use by. And assume the shop selling it has good stock control.

This lady emailed saying she bought a box from this outlet and it's out of date and she's very disappointed and wants a full refund 🤦🏻‍♀️

Obviously I emailed and told her politely to speak to the outlet she bought from, then emailed the outlet telling them this can never happen again.

But Jesus some people!

I'm finally feeling NOT SHIT and it feels wonderful. I'm ready for work tomorrow and then immediately the weekend. Also buzzing for planning for our ******* next year.

No more colds please.

I've finally managed to edit the intro, music, and all the other shit to our first podcast, I've just listened to it and my audio track has some weird robot shit going on. Didn't happen in any of the testing, mic and settings all the same. Its taken me 3 weeks to get to this point only to be thwarted by this shit.

FUMIN.

Moopy advice please.

A couple came into the shop this morning and bought a chocolate box of fudge and asked fora Christmas sticker. We don't sell a huge amount of chocolate boxes so we remember when we do.

They then asked for a bag and receipt. Reciept was put in the bag and handed to them.

They then called up this afternoon and said they can't find the fudge or the bag so they've obviously left it in the shop. They haven't. We would see a bag of fudge with a box we don't sell much.

Our staff member said it's not in the shop, have you retraced your steps.

They're saying they don't need to, they know they left it in the shop and they want a free box!

Mandy and I are refusing at the moment. Fudge isn't cheap, we can't afford to give stuff away, but at the same time we don't want bad feedback.

What would you do?

We get stuck with this ALL the time. People constantly use the threat of social media when we haven't done anything wrong! In most cases as its a big name they end up giving in. But it's so unfair!

Again similar thing, we use royal mail at times. They deliver badly/ broken/damaged, and the complaint comes to us. Er hello, we sent it out perfectly adequately!!

It's infuriating isn't it!! I used to get annoyed when clients slated the vets I worked at, but it's so much worse when it's your own company.

At least I know the public are arseholes everywhere I guess.

That's different. The customer's contract is with you, and it's your responsibility to put it right, not the courier's.

Anyone else had any side effects from their COVID booster or flu vaccines? I had both at 10am this morning and I started feeling crap around 5pm. It was the next day last time around when I was ill for two days after!

I had mine slightly later in the morning and felt generally crap by the evening. Went to bed early and slept it off though, and was fine the next day. Hopefully yours won't be any worse.

We always do put it right, but you can't blame us for the delivery being damaged.
Your post sounded upset that the complaint came to you. Of course it's going to come to you to put it right, it's your job to. It's not the customer's fault. It doesn't matter if it's not your fault either.

Nothing. As everyone said there are people who do things like this on purpose to get stuff for free.
If they have called you to say they have forgotten their phone or their tablet on the counter and to the best of your knowledge they didn't, would you consider getting them new ones?
It's the same thing.
Very good point!

People will complain their things have been damaged by leaking liquid for example. That's not our fault. That is the fault of the delivery company that man handled the product, so why not blame them? We will still replace the product, but the complaint should not be directed to us.

Sorry, I disagree - it's not really about blame or fault, it's about who is responsible for putting it right. And that's you. You're legally responsible for the condition of the goods until they are delivered.

The customer's contract is with you. You have a contract with the courier. If you want to make a complaint to the courier, you make it. It's not up to the customer.

I still think it's unfair to tag us on social media but not the delivery company.
No wonder delivery companies get away with so much, I'm sure I've read on here several times about how bad companies like Hermes are.

I agree you're not 'to blame', but you are who the customer has bought from and ultimately responsible for ensuring the item reaches the customer in good condition.

And yes Hermes/Evri (that is them now, isn't it?) are or have been shit, but then if a company chooses to use them, I don't think it's unfair if they are held to account for doing so. I've refused to buy from companies previously which used Hermes, and sent emails explaining exactly why.
