Take the hit Rachey. Then ask moopy to help compose a reply to any bad review they may leave.People pull this shit all the time, and will threaten you with bad reviews. You either take the hit or you be prepared to fight.

Tell them you've got it anyway!
Moopy advice please.
A couple came into the shop this morning and bought a chocolate box of fudge and asked fora Christmas sticker. We don't sell a huge amount of chocolate boxes so we remember when we do.
They then asked for a bag and receipt. Reciept was put in the bag and handed to them.
They then called up this afternoon and said they can't find the fudge or the bag so they've obviously left it in the shop. They haven't. We would see a bag of fudge with a box we don't sell much.
Our staff member said it's not in the shop, have you retraced your steps.
They're saying they don't need to, they know they left it in the shop and they want a free box!
Mandy and I are refusing at the moment. Fudge isn't cheap, we can't afford to give stuff away, but at the same time we don't want bad feedback.
What would you do?
We also had someone email us a couple of weeks who bought a box of our fudge from an outlet we supply to. We always supply fudge with at least 6 weeks use by. And assume the shop selling it has good stock control.
This lady emailed saying she bought a box from this outlet and it's out of date and she's very disappointed and wants a full refund
Obviously I emailed and told her politely to speak to the outlet she bought from, then emailed the outlet telling them this can never happen again.
But Jesus some people!
That's different. The customer's contract is with you, and it's your responsibility to put it right, not the courier's.Again similar thing, we use royal mail at times. They deliver badly/ broken/damaged, and the complaint comes to us. Er hello, we sent it out perfectly adequately!!
I had mine slightly later in the morning and felt generally crap by the evening. Went to bed early and slept it off though, and was fine the next day. Hopefully yours won't be any worse.Anyone else had any side effects from their COVID booster or flu vaccines? I had both at 10am this morning and I started feeling crap around 5pm. It was the next day last time around when I was ill for two days after!
Nothing. As everyone said there are people who do things like this on purpose to get stuff for free. What would you do?

Your post sounded upset that the complaint came to you. Of course it's going to come to you to put it right, it's your job to. It's not the customer's fault. It doesn't matter if it's not your fault either. We always do put it right, but you can't blame us for the delivery being damaged.
Very good point!Nothing. As everyone said there are people who do things like this on purpose to get stuff for free.
If they have called you to say they have forgotten their phone or their tablet on the counter and to the best of your knowledge they didn't, would you consider getting them new ones?
It's the same thing.
It's from real life, bf who works in food industry gets it a lotVery good point!

Sorry, I disagree - it's not really about blame or fault, it's about who is responsible for putting it right. And that's you. You're legally responsible for the condition of the goods until they are delivered.People will complain their things have been damaged by leaking liquid for example. That's not our fault. That is the fault of the delivery company that man handled the product, so why not blame them? We will still replace the product, but the complaint should not be directed to us.
