No, this is Budleigh Salterton. West Bay (where Broadchurch was largely filmed) is about 20 miles further east. Same stretch of Jurassic coastline, though.

We were at Amakhala, closer to Port Elizabeth. When we were there, the Wild Earth TV crew were filming with us, and they also film at Sabi Sands!

Actually I'd be interested to know which you prefer , Sabi which I believe is a private reserve like I went to, or Kruger. We heard mixed reviews of Kruger and our travel agent said to go private because Kruger is so big and there's so many keeps around it can sometimes spook the animals.

I’d say this is the best vacation I’ve ever been on. The place I went in Kruger was also private though, so I didn’t do any of the public ones.

The game drives are unbelievable. I can’t believe how close I’ve gotten to the animals. I’ve been so impressed by the trackers; I really don’t understand how they can even see the animals.

Also I have so much more appreciation for elephants than I did before. They are so smart and interesting. A couple days ago we saw some coyotes eating an elephant that had gotten hurt, which was depressing. But then we we went back the next day and there were a lot of elephants there chasing away the coyote. And they would all circle the young ones to protect them. I don’t think I’m doing it justice but it’s probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
 
I want to come back and also do game drives in Botswana and Tanzania and a bunch of other places.

Oh I didn't realise you could do a private one in Kruger. That's good.

Isn't it just the most incredible thing going on a game drive, and getting up stupidly early to do them doesn't even seem like a chore. I think the morning and evening game drives were one of the happiest times of my life.

I'm jealous you saw coyotes, we didn't. We also didn't see crocodiles, have you seen any?

Elephants are amazing, so intelligent and so family orientated.

But my favourite will always be a cheetah.

Also, how cute are warthogs 😃

I definitely want to do more reserves throughout Africa. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
 
I don’t think it was technically part of Kruger, it was part of Thornybush, which is kind of in Kruger I think?

And it really is so incredible. Tomorrow morning is my last one :(

I have seen crocodiles! But no cheetahs. Lots of lions and a few leopards though. I haven’t seen warthogs up close. Did you see any rhinos? I like them as well, but elephants are my favorite by far

Yeah we had 3 rhinos on our reserve, they were amazing. But the reserve along the road from us had theirs poached :(
And we saw hippos, a mum and baby, and then we found, or smelt, the dad, dead, he was killed by an elephant. Sad, but interesting to see.
