Thursday lost eight tropical fish last week in a power cut.

I did get an email a week or so, yes.

'Working from home' and all that bollocks so thought I'd pop in!

You are welcome. Can we get a quick rundown of what’s been happening in your life since 2011?

THE VIEW FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW REWATCH OCTOBER 1997 (A/K/A THAT TIME THE CAT HAD A FIGHT WITH A BADGER AND WON) 3AM 32ND JULEMBER.
That’s a classic, we can’t waste it on Julember because that’s when Suomi’s trial starts. SOMEONE BAN OR KILL OCTOPHONE.

And that’s what they sounded like last night.

i’ve been enjoying watching and old man who picks up random bits of litter in the ginnel behind my house each day. i’ve not yet made a note of times to see if there is a pattern. NEXT WEEK

BARRY STANTON IS WATCHING YOU

I've just volunteered to go back to work next week. Im already regretting it.

Yup. Getting paid full for two maths lessons a week.

Though I've started flash fiction and TikTok competitions to earn my keep.

that's not too bad

dare I ask what a TikTok competition is and how it makes you money...

Well, I knocked off work four and a half hours early. I was having to work from a different office because all the trains are dead, and it was quite the experience - if you ever want to experience the thrill of feeling like a LEPROUS HITLER, go to a new location during a pandemic. My manager has already shared with me the SHITTY e-mail she got from them saying they need 24 hours notice (of a train cancellation!), and that they were essentially risking life and limb by permitting me into the premises. God forbid we're being INSTRUCTED to work from our local office wherever possible.

That was always standard in BAD WEATHER in my day. And it could be any department. I remember working out of the Dept of Transport office at the end of the road for about a fortnight during one winter when snow put an end to public transport.

It's supposed to be standard now, but they might as well have fitted me with a bell so they could leap through the nearest window when they heard me approaching. It didn't help that my access cards didn't work so I had to ask someone every time I wanted a wee or a drink.

You should have just pulled out an empty lucozade bottle and did it at your desk. That'll learn 'em.

My dream is still to see a nun walking around Tesco and throwing a box of lil-lets into her basket.

I bet the selfish cunts buy them online, though.

If I were in that situation, they would have been able to hear me coming from the hacking cough that I would have put on as soon as I realised their game.

I did actually have a sneezing fit about half an hour after I arrived. The sneaky bastard popped into the cupboard I was being stored in and made conversation about who my manager was, and a few minutes later my manager rang me to say she'd had a cunty e-mail.

I'd reply detailing at length the immense stress and hardship this experience has caused you and take the next 3 months off for mental health at full pay.

We literally have the right to say we want to take three months off on health grounds without our employer being able to ask why. I honestly can't believe I haven't taken them up on that yet.

Seems like the perfect time to me!
